Special counsel David Weiss, according to the Biden attorneys, caved to Republican pressure and levied charges against Biden that otherwise would never have been brought.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The president\u2019s son, who was not present at the Wednesday court hearing, has been <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/hunter-biden-indicted-on-nine-charges-of-tax-evasion\/\"><span>indicted<\/span><\/a><span> on nine charges of tax evasion. He allegedly failed to file his tax returns for three years and inflated his business expenses by including his daughter\u2019s tuition as well as payments at luxury hotels and to prostitutes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Federal prosecutors Derek Hines and Leo Wise <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/03\/27\/hunter-bidens-bid-to-dismiss-tax-case-meets-judges-skepticism-00149488\"><span>slammed<\/span><\/a><span> the defense\u2019s assertion that politics played a role in their charges against Biden, with Hines calling it &#8220;absolutely outrageous&#8221; and Wise dismissing it as &#8220;revisionist history.&#8221;<\/span>\t<\/p>\n<p><span>Scarsi asked the defense to provide proof for their assertion.
