It identifies $24 million from \u201cforeign sources\u201d as flowing to Biden, his family, and associates for \u201cno legitimate services\u201d provided. <\/p>\n<p>\u201c[T[he White House has taken a position hostile to the Committee\u2019s investigation and refuses to release certain information or make available witnesses to testify regarding issues relevant to the ongoing impeachment inquiry,\u201d Comer noted. <\/p>\n<p>Last week, lawmakers <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/20\/business-partners-confirm-joe-biden-was-part-of-familys-influence-selling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">heard <\/a>from a pair of former Biden family business partners who accused the president of trading political influence for foreign gifts. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-gop-committee-chairman-to-treasury-hand-over-info-on-biden-family-business-deals\/\" title=\"New GOP Committee Chairman To Treasury: Hand Over Info On Biden Family Business Deals\">influence peddling schemes<\/a>, they said, were run primarily by the president\u2019s son, Hunter, who was invited but <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/15\/hunter-biden-attorney-likely-violated-ethics-rules-by-exploiting-former-client-jared-kushner-for-cheap-pr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">refused <\/a>to appear under oath despite a congressional subpoena. House investigators heard from former business partners Tony Bobulinski and Jason Galanis instead at the public hearing. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to be crystal clear: from my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/business-partners-confirm-joe-biden-was-part-of-familys-influence-selling\/\" title=\"Business associates verify Joe Biden's involvement in the family's influence-peddling\">direct personal experience<\/a> and what I have subsequently come to learn, it is clear to me that Joe Biden was \u2018the brand\u2019 being sold by the Biden family,\u201d said Bobulinski. \u201cHis family\u2019s foreign influence peddling operation \u2014 from China to Ukraine and elsewhere \u2014 sold out to foreign actors who were seeking to gain influence and access to Joe Biden and the United States government.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-2ac116c929c99fab1b079ad0e531f4e6 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-2ac116c929c99fab1b079ad0e531f4e6\"><\/div>\n<p>The letter from Comer on Thursday traced suspicious payments from China, Russia, and Ukraine, with questions related to the foreign transactions under each. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have asserted your family has not made money from China,\u201d Comer wrote. \u201cHowever, the Committee has identified approximately $10 million originating from China connected to Biden influence peddling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The chairman raised questions related to a series of payments from business leaders tied to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Days before the end of the 2020 election season, Bobulinki claimed the Biden family business ran so deep in China that the Democrat candidate for president was \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/10\/27\/biden-family-whistleblower-joe-biden-is-compromised-by-communist-china\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">compromised<\/a>\u201d by Beijing. <\/p>\n<p>Another primary area of inquiry by congressional investigators is a $3.5 million <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/09\/23\/hunter-biden-took-3-5-million-from-ex-moscow-mayors-wife\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">payment <\/a>from Yelena Baturina, the widow of an ex-Moscow mayor. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-cdb6aa7b5971bc1f3a8a61f58874d4c1 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-cdb6aa7b5971bc1f3a8a61f58874d4c1\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cIn February 2014, the richest woman in Russia paid into your son and his business associate\u2019s company $3.5 million days before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, in an apparent attempt to avoid U.S. sanctions on Russian bank accounts,\u201d Comer wrote. \u201cTo date, the Russian oligarch has not been subject to any public sanctions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Comer also summarized the Biden family\u2019s scandalous arrangement in Ukraine, wherein Hunter raked in millions from an energy company despite no prior experience in the industry while Joe Biden was vice president.
