What was wrong, my husband and girlfriends wanted to know. I couldn\u2019t tell them. The answer was honestly and truly nothing.<\/p>\n<p>Nothing except for one teensy thing: a tiny round pill I ingested every morning at the same time for years.<\/p>\n<p>My doctor had prescribed me the oral hormonal contraceptive several years prior as a Band-Aid for stubborn acne. At the time, I was exasperated, desperate to try anything that would work to clear my adult skin \u2014 when I learned about the silver bullet of birth control. <\/p>\n<p>To my doctor\u2019s credit, before writing the prescription, she ran extra blood panels due to my family\u2019s heart history and the known risk of blood clotting from The Pill. But when my tests came back clear, I eagerly filled that prescription, blissfully unaware of the possibility of other mental and physical side effects.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-652c192702795360ff71dc83a147df37 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-652c192702795360ff71dc83a147df37\"><\/div>\n<p>Over time, they took their miserable toll \u2014 and in more ways than one. Beyond the extra emotional turmoil, I once bled inexplicably for three weeks straight.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m not alone. I know many other women who\u2019ve experienced similar turmoil, in addition to the mountains of reported anecdotes and scientific research backing up the pitfalls of The Pill and other hormonal contraceptives. Those admitted risks include <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/o\/1sngw\/https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC6193788\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">suicidality<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/o\/1sngw\/https:\/\/www.uclahealth.org\/news\/study-shows-how-birth-control-pills-affect-womens\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">unnatural stress responses<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/the-media-panics-as-more-and-more-women-choose-to-dump-their-birth-control\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">weight gain, and infertility<\/a>, plus <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/o\/1sngw\/https:\/\/www.uclahealth.org\/news\/study-shows-how-birth-control-pills-affect-womens\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">inflammation<\/a> and all its associated side effects such as heart disease, cancer, autoimmune issues, and mental health problems. A pelvic floor physical therapist told me hormonal birth control can even alter genital tissue, contributing to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/heres-a-simple-fix-for-a-low-sex-drive\/\" title=\"Here\u2019s a Simple Fix for a Low Sex Drive\">female sexual dysfunction<\/a> such as vaginismus.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>My own mother is walking, talking fine print on a birth control box. She experienced multiple heart attacks beginning at age 40 that went unexplained for years, survived breast cancer, and required an endometrial ablation after uncontrollable bleeding that left her dangerously iron deficient.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>So it\u2019s beyond frustrating to watch the corporate media\u2019s coordinated effort to convince women there\u2019s nothing wrong with hormonal contraceptives. Faced with long-overdue efforts to protect preborn human life from the horrors of abortion, women from the serious dangers of abortion pills, and human embryos from unethical artificial reproduction technology, Democrats and the accomplice press are clinging desperately to birth control. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-8dee3ca5db49b5c53de6925df61b20ce fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-8dee3ca5db49b5c53de6925df61b20ce\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cWomen are getting off <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-media-panics-as-more-and-more-women-choose-to-dump-their-birth-control\/\" title=\"Media alarmed by increasing number of women opting out of birth control\">birth control amid misinformation explosion<\/a>,\u201d announced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/health\/2024\/03\/21\/stopping-birth-control-misinformation\/\">The Washington Post<\/a> this week, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/explosion-of-women-ditching-birth-control-amid-misinformation-blitz-docs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daily Beast<\/a> quick on its heels to warn about \u201crampant online disinformation.\u201d The Post went so far as to harass TikTok until the tech giant removed the fertility \u201cmisinformation\u201d \u2014 which is nothing more than a euphemism for information the media don\u2019t like. <\/p>\n<p>(If we want to talk about actual \u201cmisinformation,\u201d Washington Post propaganda is a good place to start. It claims, \u201cMedical experts say there is no evidence birth control impacts fertility long term.\u201d Fact check: false. As The Daily Wire\u2019s Matt Walsh <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/the-media-panics-as-more-and-more-women-choose-to-dump-their-birth-control\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pointed out<\/a>, one of the Post\u2019s approved sources <a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/baby\/get-pregnant-after-birth-control#:~:text=You%20may%20be%20able%20to,for%202%20years%20or%20less\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">says<\/a> an injectable birth control recommended by Planned Parenthood can affect fertility long after women quit receiving the shots. Ovulation can take 10 months or longer to resume, and it could take a year and a half before periods return.)<\/p>\n<p>Even more pernicious than the media\u2019s blatant censorship crusade, however, is their gaslighting of well-informed women with the myth of expertise. They treat women much like they treated mask and vaccine skeptics (who were right, by the way) during the Covid panic \u2014 as if you cannot possibly read primary sources and understand your body\u2019s natural functions if you don\u2019t have a string of letters behind your name. <\/p>\n<p>For example, The Washington Post goes after popular holistic health coach Nicole Bendayan (one of the victims of its censorship rampage). After detailing her path to becoming a nutritionist, the Post is sure to note, \u201cThe 29-year-old is not a licensed medical specialist.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Oh, well then. Are the Washington Post reporters licensed medical specialists? No. They have English and journalism degrees.<\/p>\n<p>But it\u2019s not brain surgery. Every woman\u2019s cycle is different to some degree, which is why it\u2019s up to each of us to attune to the signals of our bodies. When women experience fertility-related symptoms, we do research and hypothesize what might be the issue. We change certain variables from cycle to cycle, observe the changes, and test the most effective ones repeatedly. Then we draw conclusions based on all the best evidence and testing. It\u2019s science by definition. When it comes to my menstrual cycle, yes, I\u2019m becoming the best expert.<\/p>\n<p>The feminist left <em>hates<\/em> it. They\u2019re all \u201cpro-choice\u201d until women choose to tell about their adverse experiences with birth control and detoxify their bodies of hormone disruptors. Invoking <em>The Handmaid\u2019s Tale <\/em>is always in vogue, but Democrats\u2019 ugly little secret is that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/how-to-win-the-debate-on-abortion-in-12-clear-counterpoints\/\" title=\"How To Win The Debate On Abortion In 12 Clear Counterpoints\">birth control isn\u2019<\/a>t just the best way to control reproduction; it\u2019s the best way to control <em>women<\/em>. The longer women remain single and childless, the longer they tend to be dependents of the state and therefore Democrat voters. The fewer times they go on maternity leave, the more soulless hours they can clock for their corporate bosses. <\/p>\n<p>But look around. Are efforts to make women more like men making us happier? The \u201cexplosion\u201d of females flushing their birth control offers a resounding no. Women bought the feminist lie for a while, but it only bankrupted them. It turns out that having your health concerns dismissed is not \u201cempowering.\u201d Masking symptoms isn\u2019t \u201cliberating.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Despite the media\u2019s hand-wringing about \u201ceffectiveness,\u201d women \u2014 and men \u2014have way better <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/kathleen-j-anderson-womens-march-promotes-pregnant-people-otherwise-known-as-women\/\" title=\"Kathleen J. Anderson: Women\u2019s March Promotes \u201cPregnant People,\u201d Otherwise Known As \u201cWomen\u201d\">birth control options<\/a> available, such as cycle syncing and natural family planning. So you\u2019ve been told you have to ingest synthetic hormones every day\u2026 but did you know you\u2019re only fertile about one week out of every month? Now, knowledge like <em>that <\/em>is empowering. <\/p>\n<p>And here\u2019s the deal: I know it\u2019s not \u201ccool\u201d to suggest abstaining from sex. But sex makes babies. (Do I need to say it again louder for the Post\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2014\/05\/19\/the-washington-post-is-super-confused-about-where-babies-come-from\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Philip Bump<\/a>?) You shouldn\u2019t be having it if you aren\u2019t prepared to deal with its consequences. But if you\u2019re really interested in the research, it shows married parents are nearly <a href=\"https:\/\/ifstudies.org\/blog\/who-is-happiest-married-mothers-and-fathers-per-the-latest-general-social-survey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">twice as happy<\/a> as single Americans without kids. <\/p>\n<p>So no, I don\u2019t need to take my cues from the media-consulted reproductive \u201cexperts,\u201d and neither do you. I\u2019ve been off birth control for nine months, and now I feel more like myself than I ever have.
