The president has been more equivocal in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/no-spike-in-florida-coronavirus-cases-despite-no-mask-mandate\/\" title=\"No Spike in Florida Coronavirus Cases Despite No Mask Mandate\">recent weeks<\/a> when speaking about the Israel-Hamas war.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey have a point,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/2939845\/biden-responds-to-pro-palestinian-protesters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Biden said\">Biden said<\/a> Tuesday when pro-Palestinian protesters interrupted him during a speech in North Carolina. \u201cWe need to get a lot more care into Gaza.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden initially outlined a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2577821\/biden-looks-to-boost-israel-as-democrats-fracture-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"strongly pro-Israel stance\">strongly pro-Israel stance<\/a> following the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas terrorist attacks, recalling his first trip to the country in 1973 and flying in to meet with Israeli leaders the next week.<\/p>\n<p>But pro-Palestinian protests have followed the president at nearly every stop in the months since, and the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/2889385\/biden-michigan-primary-results-uncommitted\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"uncommitted\">uncommitted<\/a>\u201d campaign in Michigan threatens his stance in a critical \u201cblue wall\u201d state this November.<\/p>\n<p>The United States chose to abstain from a recent United Nations Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza that it had previously blocked, which caused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/defense\/2936510\/un-passes-gaza-ceasefire-resolution-netanyahu-threatens-cancel-dc-visit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"scrap plans\">scrap plans<\/a> to send a delegation to Washington to discuss the war.<\/p>\n<p>While National Security Council spokesman\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/John-Kirby\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">John\u00a0Kirby<\/a>\u00a0said the resolution \u201cdoes not represent a shift in our policy,\u201d it may be perceived that way by voters.<\/p>\n<p>Biden risks alienating some voters regardless of how he handles the situation. Some Democrats, notably Sen. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/defense\/2940915\/fetterman-hamas-rapists-cowards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"John Fetterman\">John Fetterman<\/a> (D-PA), have said the U.S. must be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/defense\/2940915\/fetterman-hamas-rapists-cowards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"John Fetterman\">stronger<\/a> in condemning Hamas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome members of Congress won\u2019t condemn this. Some dismissed this as \u2018propaganda.\u2019 The UN won\u2019t even condemn Hamas. Hamas is not a group of \u2018militants\u2019 or engaging in \u2018insurgency\u2019 \u2014 just rapists and cowards hiding behind innocent civilians,\u201d Fetterman wrote on social media. \u201cIsrael absolutely has the right to pursue and dismantle Hamas to surrender or neutralization. True peace is possible through this imperative.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure>\n<div>\n<blockquote data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<div lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>Some members of Congress won&#8217;t condemn this. The UN won&#8217;t even condemn Hamas.<\/p>\n<p>Hamas is not a group of &#8216;militants&#8217; or engaging in &#8216;insurgency&#8217;\u2014just rapists and cowards hiding behind innocent civilians. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/5OE423uEAQ\">pic.twitter.com\/5OE423uEAQ<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u2014 Senator John Fetterman (@SenFettermanPA) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SenFettermanPA\/status\/1772962376687468759?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 27, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Emeritus professor at Harvard Law School Alan Dershowitz said Biden\u2019s handling of the war may cause him to not vote for a Democrat for the first time since 1960.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBiden is thinking very hard now about the two-state solution,\u201d Dershowitz <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/video\/2024\/03\/27\/dershowitz_on_israel_the_only_two-state_solution_biden_is_worried_about_is_michigan_and_pennsylvania.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"said\">said<\/a> on Israel\u2019s Channel 12 News. \u201cThe two states, however, are Michigan and Pennsylvania, or Michigan and Nevada, or Michigan and Arizona.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But the presumptive Republican presidential nominee made his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/2937277\/donald-trump-israel-big-mistake-war-hamas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"own criticisms\">own criticisms<\/a> of Israel\u2019s handling of the conflict this week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I think Israel made a very big mistake,\u201d Trump told\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.israelhayom.com\/2024\/03\/25\/trump-to-israel-hayom-only-a-fool-would-have-not-acted-like-israel-on-oct-7\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Israel Hayom<\/a><\/em>\u00a0during an interview at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida. \u201cI wanted to call [Israel] and say don\u2019t do it. These photos and shots, I mean, moving shots of bombs being dropped into buildings in Gaza. And I said, \u2018Oh, that\u2019s a terrible portrait. It\u2019s a very bad picture for the world.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have to finish up your war \u2014 to finish it up,\u201d Trump warned.
