The job requires a strong commitment to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/virginia-parents-take-critical-race-theory-lawsuit-against-school-board-to-higher-court\/\" title=\"Virginia parents escalate critical race theory lawsuit against school board to higher court.\">anti-racist actions<\/a> and fostering a culture of accountability for racial equity transformation.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>A Minnesota school district is hiring a new assistant superintendent who will be expected to \u201cexamine\u201d the presence of \u201cWhiteness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>St. Louis Park Public Schools just outside Minneapolis <a href=\"https:\/\/slpschools.tedk12.com\/hire\/ViewJob.aspx?JobID=591\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posted<\/a> the job description for the position on the district\u2019s job board.<\/p>\n<p>The job, with a salary between $134,141 and $201,212, will focus specifically on injecting \u201canti-racism\u201d into the district\u2019s culture.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[T]he Assistant Superintendent proactively supports the Superintendent to create and communicate anti-racist structures and systems, works to interrupt systems of oppression, and serves as a role model for culturally relevant pedagogy,\u201d reads the job description.<\/p>\n<p>The posting says the person who fills the role will be \u201cunwaveringly committed to anti-racist actions\u201d and will have a \u201cclear personal commitment to advancing racial equity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It continues, \u201cThey prioritize their own racial equity journey and set clear expectations for themselves and others in their pursuit of racial equity goals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new assistant superintendent will also \u201cuse data to adapt and sustain their efforts towards racial equity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey actively listen for both spoken and unspoken racial concerns, seek multiple racial perspectives, examine the presence and role of \u2018Whiteness\u2019 in systems and structures, and are open to feedback regarding their own racial blind spots,\u201d the job posting reads.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, this person also \u201c[f]osters joy and cultivates a culture of accountability for systemic racial equity transformation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Just last week, the district hired a new superintendent, Dr. Carla Hines, who appears to be focused on racial equity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHer educational leadership, dedication to student academic success, and vision for racial equity transformation is impressive and I\u2019m confident she\u2019ll lead our district with integrity and passion, advancing our strategic plan,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.slpschools.org\/default-board-post-page\/~board\/district\/post\/dr-hines-selected-for-st-louis-park-public-schools-superintendent\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> school board chairman Colin Cox in announcing Hines as superintendent.<\/p>\n<p>The St. Louis Park district <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usnews.com\/education\/k12\/minnesota\/districts\/st-louis-park-public-school-dist-103888\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">serves<\/a> more than 4,500 students at nine schools. Just over half the students are white, while about 20% are black, nearly 13% are Hispanic, and the rest are mixed race, Asian, or another minority.<\/p>\n<p>About 18% of students are economically disadvantaged, and 8% are still learning English.<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1711624021971000&#038;usg=AOvVaw1PsD9ubifrvbeusazFoLDO\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Only about 34% of high schoolers in the district are proficient in math, and 58% are proficient in reading. Among middle schoolers, 37% are proficient in math, and 52% are proficient in reading.<\/p>\n<p>In recent years, parents in districts across the country have spoken out against critical race theory (CRT) and other race-related curriculum content they find divisive and objectionable for children.<\/p>\n<p>In 2022, the Florida education board <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/federal-judge-suspends-stop-woke-act-in-florida\">banned<\/a> public schools from teaching CRT.
