Anticipating potential contempt proceedings, the tension continues to escalate.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>Georgia\u2019s Fulton County District Attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/fulton-county-prosecutors-have-another-recording-of-trump-pressuring-georgia-house-speaker-to-overturn-election-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fani Willis<\/a>, who is leading a 2020 election interference case against former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/donald-trump\">Donald Trump<\/a> and his allies, issued a combative response to House Judiciary Chairman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/jim-jordan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jim Jordan<\/a> (R-OH) this week in a clash over documents.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor sent Jordan a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ZcohenCNN\/status\/1773052447558103124?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a> on Monday saying that she \u201ccategorically\u201d rejected the chairman\u2019s assertion that her office has not sufficiently responded to his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/jim-jordan-subpoenas-fulton-da-fani-willis-following-whistleblower-allegations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">subpoena<\/a> from early February.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs you note in your letter, we have already provided you with substantial information about our programs that are funded via federal grants,\u201d Willis said, according to a copy of the letter posted to X by CNN reporter Zachary Cohen.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan issued the subpoena after the Washington Free Beacon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/report-unveils-audio-of-staffer-warning-georgia-prosecutor-of-federal-money-being-misspent-ahead-of-firing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published<\/a> audio of an employee telling Willis about the potential misuse of federal funds weeks before the worker was fired. Willis has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsbtv.com\/news\/local\/atlanta\/rep-jim-jordan-subpoenas-fulton-da-produce-documents-tied-alleged-relationship\/TX7JF5XDFZHD3MMY2SBI32XPPQ\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rejected<\/a> suggestions of wrongdoing.<\/p>\n<p>The chairman followed up with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/jim-jordan-threatens-fulton-county-da-fani-willis-with-contempt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a> to Willis two weeks ago that acknowledged the DA did produce some records, but demanded she fully comply with document requests and a subpoena by Thursday or face the prospect of contempt of Congress proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>Willis said a February 23 letter she sent Jordan expressed that her office was \u201cin the process of producing relevant documents to you on a rolling basis and is undertaking a good faith effort to provide you with responsive information about our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-releases-list-of-president-trumps-accomplishments-and-it-is-historic\/\" title=\"White House Releases List of President Trump\u2019s Accomplishments \u2013  And It Is Historic!\">federal grant funding<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1700760801843000&#038;usg=AOvVaw2PQrVSrJfhxNb4LcARqniG\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Although the DA said her office was making another production on Monday as part of that \u201congoing process,\u201d she claimed Jordan\u2019s \u201cextensive\u201d demands that cover several years for records in less than two months are \u201cunreasonable and uncustomary.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Willis insisted that such an endeavor would require her office to \u201cdivert resources from our primary purpose of prosecuting crime,\u201d though she did not name any particular case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet me be clear, while we are abiding by your subpoena in good faith and with due diligence, we will not divert resources that undermine our duty to the people of Fulton County to prosecute felonies committed in this jurisdiction,\u201d Willis said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will not shut down this office\u2019s efforts to prosecute crime \u2014 including gang activity, acts of violence and public corruption \u2014\u00a0to meet unreasonable deadlines in your politically motivated \u2018investigation\u2019 of this office,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Willis said her office will make another production in the \u201ccoming weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She\u00a0then alluded to Trump\u2019s trial, which she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/03\/21\/politics\/fani-willis-trump-georgia-trial\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reportedly hopes<\/a> to have before the 2024 election after a judge allowed her to press forward with special prosecutor Nathan Wade <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/nathan-wade-steps-down-as-special-prosecutor-in-trump-georgia-case-following-judges-ruling\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">resigning<\/a> amid concerns about a romantic relationship between him and the DA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[L]et me again state this clearly: nothing that you do will derail the efforts of my staff and I to bring the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/judge-fani-willis-disqualification-from-trump-case-possible-hearing-must-occur\/\" title=\"Judge: Fani Willis may be disqualified from Trump case, hearing necessary\">election interference prosecution<\/a> to trial so that a jury of Fulton County citizens can determine the guilt or innocence of the defendants,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy family, my staff and I have been threatened repeatedly by people making violent, often racist, attacks,\u201d Willis added. \u201cNeither those threats, nor anything your colleagues and you say or do, will deter us from fulfilling our duty to bring this case to trial.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump and 18 co-defendants pleaded not guilty in the Georgia election case. Four of them have since taken <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courthousenews.com\/fourth-trump-co-defendant-takes-plea-deal-in-georgia-election-interference-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">plea deals<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The former president\u00a0faces four criminal cases and civil litigation as he runs another campaign seeking a second term in the White House.
