Trump highlighted Theriault&#8217;s bid\u200c to unseat Golden in\u2062 Maine&#8217;s 2nd Congressional District. Austin Theriault, former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/nascar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>NASCAR<\/a> driver, in the 2024 elections on Wednesday, slamming incumbent Rep. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/jared-golden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Jared Golden<\/a> (D-ME) for being \u201ccompletely beholden to the Radical Left.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Theriault is running to outseat Golden in Maine\u2019s 2nd Congressional District, which Trump carried in the 2016 and 2020 elections and earned him an electoral vote, despite former Secretary of State <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/hillary-clinton\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Hillary Clinton<\/a> and now-President <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/jared-golden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Joe Biden<\/a> winning the Pine Tree State in their respective years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFormer NASCAR Driver Austin Theriault is running for Congress in Maine\u2019s 2nd Congressional District against Democrat Jared Golden, who poses as a \u2018bipartisan politician,\u2019 but is instead completely beholden to the Radical Left,\u201d Trump said in his endorsement post on Truth Social, stating that Golden\u2019s support of Biden\u2019s policies \u201churt Maine\u2019s Great Lobstermen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Congress, Austin Theriault will work hard to Secure the Border, Protect our always under siege Second Amendment, Stop Crime, Cut Taxes, and Support Law Enforcement, Military, and Veterans,\u201d the former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-approves-executive-order-for-sanctions-on-myanmar-officials-in-response-to-military-coup\/\" title=\"Biden Approves Executive Order For Sanctions On Myanmar Officials In Response To Military Coup\">president continued<\/a>. \u201cAustin Theriault has my Complete and Total Endorsement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Theriault thanked the former president for his endorsement in a statement on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoe Biden is failing and we need Trump back,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/republicans-vowed-to-elect-more-women-they-did-just-that\/\" title=\"Republicans Vowed To Elect More Women...They Did Just That\">state representative<\/a> said. \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to working with President Trump to take Maine\u2019s 2nd Congressional District back for the people. Rural Maine and the working class are hurting badly under Biden and Golden, and they need a real fighter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to secure the border, protect our 2nd Amendment, stop the inflation, and get rid of Joe Biden,\u201d Theriault added. \u201cThis is about fighting for Mainers who don\u2019t have a voice, and I\u2019m excited to be working with another proven champion to Save America!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Maine was one of several states that made efforts to remove Trump from the ballot under the 14th Amendment. Golden had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2709665\/democratic-rep-jared-golden-disagrees-with-trumps-removal-from-ballot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"called for the former president\">called for the former president<\/a> to remain on the ticket despite Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows\u2019s decision to block him. However, the Supreme Court ruling against Colorado\u2019s decision to remove Trump made Maine\u2019s effectively void, so he will be an option for Maine voters in November.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI voted to impeach Donald Trump for his role in the January 6th insurrection. I do not believe he should be re-elected as President of the United States,\u201d Golden said in December. \u201cHowever, we are a nation of laws, therefore until he is actually found guilty of the crime of insurrection, he should be allowed on the ballot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Theriault is one of 31 Republicans who will benefit from the joint fundraising committee Emmer Majority Builders in 2024, a new venture created by Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) in December 2023 focused on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2621268\/house-majority-whip-tom-emmer-launches-fundraising-venture-to-help-republican-candidates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"raising money for Republican incumbents and candidates\">raising money for Republican incumbents and candidates<\/a>. The campaign will transfer $5 million to 26 incumbents, five challengers, the National Republican Congressional Committee, Emmer\u2019s reelection campaign, Emmer\u2019s leadership PAC, and the Congressional Leadership Fund.<\/p>\n<p>The Maine state representative has earned endorsements from several local lawmakers and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/executed-to-perfection-deep-states-color-revolution-of-the-united-states-is-now-after-red-meat\/\" title=\"Executed to Perfection \u2013 Deep State\u2019s Color Revolution of the United States Is Now After Red Meat\">state politicians<\/a>, with support from Trump becoming his largest national Republican endorsement so far.<\/p>\n<p>Golden\u2019s seat is currently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cookpolitical.com\/ratings\/house-race-ratings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>rated a toss-up<\/a> with Republicans having a 6-point lead, according to the <em>Cook Political Report<\/em>. Theriault has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austinformaine.com\/2023\/10\/13\/state-rep-austin-theriault-one-of-goldens-republican-opponents-said-the-congressman-should-condemn-some-of-his-more-progressive-colleagues\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"campaigning heavily\">campaigning heavily<\/a> on the Israel-Hamas war in the Middle East since he entered the race last September, frequently blasting the Maine congressman to condemn his more progressive Democratic colleagues in the House who have called for ceasefires and aid to Palestinians.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In October, Golden was the original co-sponsor and voted in favor of a bipartisan resolution that solidified the House\u2019s support for Israel and condemned Hamas\u2019s Oct. 7 terrorist attacks. The Maine Democrat also voted to support <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2436245\/house-censures-rashida-tlaib-over-anti-israel-comments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>the censure of Rep.
