Josh Shapiro (D-PA), Biden, and state election officials, claiming that their attempts to increase voter access required legislative approval, which they did not get, the <em>Pennsylvania Capital Star<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/penncapital-star.com\/voting\/pennsylvania-gop-lawmakers-file-suit-against-biden-and-shapiro-over-election-authority\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>reported<\/a>. But on Tuesday, a U.S. district judge dismissed the suit, claiming that the lawsuit had no legal standing, <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/pennsylvania-voter-registration-lawsuit-82c3e6c80bd36b0d92c157b3d70918bc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"according\">according<\/a> to the <em>Associated Press<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit challenged Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/presidential-actions\/2021\/03\/07\/executive-order-on-promoting-access-to-voting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"2021 executive order\">2021 executive order<\/a> that prompted federal agencies to consider steps to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/over-20-gop-candidates-sue-largest-texas-county-alleging-election-day-malfeasance\/\" title=\"Over 20 GOP candidates sue Texas county for alleged election day misconduct.\">promote voter access<\/a>. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/supreme-court-calls-new-yorks-covid-19-restrictions-discriminatory-sides-with-religious-leaders\/\" title=\"Supreme Court Calls New York\u2019s COVID-19 Restrictions \u2018Discriminatory,\u2019 Sides With Religious Leaders\">executive order violates<\/a> a law the state passed the following year that prohibited third-party organizations from funding state elections, according to the lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit also contested Shapiro\u2019s 2023 executive order that enabled automatic voter registration in Pennsylvania and former Gov. Tom Wolf\u2019s directive, prohibiting voter registrations from being denied if an applicant\u2019s driver\u2019s license or Social Security number did not match what was in the government\u2019s database, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>Rep.
