The investigation\u2063 highlights the importance of maintaining safety programs consistent with OSHA standards at federal agencies.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/house-republicans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">House Republicans<\/a> are pressing their inquiry into the biting incidents involving President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/joe-biden\">Joe Biden<\/a>\u2018s dog Commander after Secret Service employees <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/cnn-bidens-dog-has-attacked-secret-service-dozens-of-times-during-presidency\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reportedly<\/a> got nipped dozens of times.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the House Education and the Workforce Committee sent a new <a href=\"https:\/\/edworkforce.house.gov\/uploadedfiles\/3.25.24_-_letter_to_dol.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a> to acting Labor Secretary Julie Su requesting information about workplace safety protocols at the White House.<\/p>\n<p>Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) said she wants to know what the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is doing to enforce the standards.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRecently, news reports say the number of known dog-bite incidents involving the President\u2019s dog Commander and Secret Service employees has risen to 24,\u201d Foxx wrote.<\/p>\n<p>She added the panel \u201cstresses that it is still concerned about the occupational safety and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-democrats-unveil-1-9-trillion-covid-19-relief-package\/\" title=\"House Democrats Unveil .9 Trillion COVID-19 Relief Package\">health program<\/a> for all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/timeline-andrew-cuomos-scandalous-covid-19-response\/\" title=\"Timeline: Andrew Cuomo\u2019s Scandalous COVID-19 Response\">employees working<\/a> at the White House and the Executive Office of the President (EOP).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Foxx has written <a href=\"https:\/\/edworkforce.house.gov\/uploadedfiles\/10.11.23_letter_to_president_biden_and_acting_secretary_of_labor_su_on_white_house_compliance_with_osha_regulations.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">two<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/edworkforce.house.gov\/uploadedfiles\/11.15.23_letter_to_dol_re_white_house_compliance_with_osha_regulations.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">other<\/a> letters to Su, in October and November, as biting incidents involving Commander kept <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/bidens-dog-commander-bites-secret-service-member-again\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">making headlines<\/a> until the first family <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/02\/21\/us-news\/biden-dog-commander-drew-blood-with-attacks-on-secret-service-at-white-house-vacation-home-documents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gave<\/a> the German Shepard to family members.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, Biden had been dogged by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-dog-commander-bites-secret-service-member-again\/\" title=\"Biden's dog, Commander, bites Secret Service member once more.\">negative pet stories<\/a> for years. He had another German Shepard named Major who also got in trouble for biting. Major was also removed from the White House and ultimately <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/pets\/biden-family-rehomes-rescue-dog-major-will-get-cat-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">left<\/a> with family friends.<\/p>\n<p>The Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act) \u201crequires the head of every federal agency to maintain an occupational safety and health program consistent with OSHA standards,\u201d Foxx noted.<\/p>\n<p>In response to the November letter, the Labor Department claimed not to be \u201caware of any forms or reports from the White House submitted pursuant to the OSH Act,\u201d Foxx said.<\/p>\n<p>The chairwoman said it \u201cseems that the EOP failed to provide this information to DOL.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Foxx also noted OSHA chief Douglas Parker\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.house.gov\/meetings\/ED\/ED10\/20230927\/116336\/HHRG-118-ED10-20230927-QFR001.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">response to a question for the record (QFR)<\/a> \u201csuggests that OSHA\u2019s answer covers only agencies which OSHA \u2018historically contacts\u2019 for injury and illness data.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis qualification suggests that, despite the dictates of the OSH Act, OSHA is picking and choosing which agencies it scrutinizes and requires to submit data,\u201d Foxx said.<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1711624021971000&#038;usg=AOvVaw1PsD9ubifrvbeusazFoLDO\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Committee has an interest in ensuring that the White House is providing the same protections to its workforce that it demands of the private sector,\u201d the chairwoman added. \u201cFurthermore, the Committee has an interest in ensuring that DOL has accurate data on the EOP and the White House.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Foxx requested various documents and information, including copies of claims submitted to DOL\u2019s Office of Workers\u2019 Compensation Programs for EOP employees since January 20, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>She asked, \u201cWhy did Park omit the EOP in the QFR response \u2026 when it appears the EOP did not comply with the requirements of the OSH Act?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The chairwoman also queried, \u201cIf the White House has not submitted the appropriate forms to DOL to remain in compliance with the OSH Act, what does DOL intend to do to ensure that the EOP is aware of and complies with the OSH Act\u2019s requirements?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Wire reached out to DOL seeking comment.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>House Republicans intensify a probe into biting cases linked to President Joe Biden&#8217;s dog, Commander.
