Despite\u2063 denying involvement in his wife and son&#8217;s murders, Murdaugh \u200dconfessed to embezzlement, receiving a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/she-claimed-he-raped-her-after-he-ended-their-relationship-she-was-just-sentenced-to-32-months-in-jail-for-her-false-accusation\/\" title=\"She Claimed He Raped Her After He Ended Their Relationship. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/federal-government-relaunches-covid-19-testing-program\/\" title=\"Federal Government restarts COVID-19 testing initiative.\">federal government aims<\/a> \u2064to revoke part of his plea\u200c agreement due to \u200balleged deception\u2062 during investigations.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>The FBI says convicted murderer Alex Murdaugh lied about where more than $6 million of stolen client money went, and about whether an unnamed attorney helped him steal it.<\/p>\n<p>Murdaugh is already serving two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/2018-parkland-high-school-shooter-sentenced-to-life-in-prison\/\" title=\"2018 Parkland High School Shooter Sentenced to Life in Prison\">consecutive life terms<\/a> for the murders of his wife, Maggie, and youngest son, Paul, both of whom he denies killing. Murdaugh did, however, plead guilty to stealing money from his clients and law firm, which resulted in a 27-year prison sentence, meaning he will be incarcerated even if his murder conviction is overturned.<\/p>\n<p>The federal government also sought to prosecute Murdaugh, who pleaded guilty last year in federal court to money laundering and various fraud charges, the Associated Press <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/alex-murdaugh-federal-crimes-guilty-plea-1d9d8793a58f3928fbaa7ed92f3b211c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> at the time. Now the feds want to revoke their part of the plea agreement, claiming Murdaugh lied because the unnamed attorney failed a polygraph test, the results of which have not been released, <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/alex-murdaugh-financial-crimes-failed-polygraph-f5c8f6587f6001887ac71793d58f4562\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to the AP<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The unnamed attorney failed the test in October, which was given because the FBI already suspected Murdaugh had lied in his previous three interviews with the bureau. Federal prosecutors argued in court documents to keep the polygraph test and the summaries of its interviews with Murdaugh out of the public eye. Murdaugh\u2019s defense attorneys reportedly oppose this, as prosecutors said in a footnote.<\/p>\n<p>Polygraph tests are not permitted as evidence in court because they are notoriously unreliable.<\/p>\n<p>Murdaugh <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/alex-murdaugh-sentenced-to-27-years-for-financial-crimes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">admitted<\/a> to stealing around $12 million from clients over the years after promising to help them with medical bills or pain and suffering. One victim, Jordan Jinks, had been a friend of Murdaugh\u2019s since they were children. He asked Murdaugh to represent him after he incurred hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/matt-petgrave-arrested-on-suspicion-of-manslaughter-over-death-of-adam-johnson\/\" title=\"Matt Petgrave Arrested On Suspicion Of Manslaughter Over Death Of Adam Johnson\">neck injury resulting<\/a> from someone rear-ending his car.<\/p>\n<p>Jinks paid the bills, assured that Murdaugh would obtain a settlement to refund him. Why?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While taking responsibility for the financial crimes, Murdaugh adamantly denies killing his wife and son.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to take responsibility. I want my son to see me take responsibility. It\u2019s my hope that by taking responsibility that the people I\u2019ve hurt can begin to heal,\u201d Murdaugh said when pleading guilty in September.<\/p>\n<p>His defense attorney, Dick Harpootlian, noted at the time: \u201cThere\u2019s two things Alex will tell you. One, he stole the money.
