After <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2934266\/former-rnc-chairwoman-joins-nbc-as-contributor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>announcing<\/a> her hire on Friday, NBC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2911979\/outgoing-rnc-chairwoman-warns-republicans-not-to-ignore-abortion-ahead-of-november\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>parted ways<\/a> with McDaniel on Monday after her roughly 20-minute appearance on <em>Meet the Press<\/em> aired.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo organization, particularly a newsroom, can succeed unless it is cohesive and aligned,\u201d NBC News Chairman Cesar Conde said in an email to NBC staff. \u201cOver the last few days, it has become clear that this appointment undermines that goal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McDaniel is exploring defamation and hostile work environment reparations from the fallout of her hire, according to <em>Politico<\/em>. According to a source familiar with McDaniel, she reportedly spoke with attorney Bryan Freedman, who represented ousted news anchors such as Megyn Kelly, Chris Cuomo, Don Lemon, and Tucker Carlson.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe part that pisses me off most about this is not necessarily that they folded; it\u2019s [that] they allowed their talent to drag Ronna through the mud and make it seem like they were innocent bystanders,\u201d the source close to McDaniel said.<\/p>\n<p>McDaniel has remained silent about the fallout from her hiring and firing. Her allies have blamed the network for the drama surrounding her hire and for not having met with top network talent ahead of publicly announcing the hire. They said McDaniel was misled to think NBC would be welcoming to her.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/desperate-cnn-announces-another-republican-town-hall-but-this-time-without-donald-trump\/\" title=\"CNN schedules Republican Town Hall without Trump.\">network faced criticism<\/a> of the hire from many of its on-air hosts, especially its left-leaning affiliate MSNBC. Rachel Maddow spent 29 minutes of her show talking about her distaste for the network\u2019s decision to hire McDaniel.
