The judge argued that the law violated the Second Amendment \u200crights of Carbajal-Flores in this\u200d particular case.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe Court finds that Carbajal-Flores\u2019 criminal record, containing \u2064no\u200c improper use of \u2064a weapon, \u2063as well as the non-violent circumstances\u200d of his arrest do not support a finding that he poses a risk\u200b to public \u200bsafety such that he cannot\u2062 be\u200d trusted to use a weapon responsibly and\u2063 should be deprived of his \u2063Second Amendment right\u2064 to bear arms in self-defense,\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>State Rep. Dan Caulkins, R-Decatur, raised concerns about\u2064 the absence\u200b of\u200c responses\u2063 from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/president-trump-pledges-orderly-transition-of-power\/\" title=\"President Trump pledges orderly transition of power\">local law enforcement<\/a>, the Illinois Attorney General,\u200d or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tighter-background-check-legislation-burdens-law-abiding-citizens-wont-reduce-crime-expert\/\" title=\"Tighter Background Check Legislation Burdens Law-Abiding Citizens, Won\u2019t Reduce Crime: Expert\">gun control advocates<\/a> regarding \u2063this case.\u200b On the \u2062House Floor, \u2064Caulkins applauded the ruling and suggested that it could signal the end of Illinois\u2019 \u2062Firearm Owners ID card\u200d requirement.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWhy\u2062 shouldn\u2019t gun owners across the state cut up our FOID \u2063cards \u2063and be able to buy guns out of state with no worry?\u201d Caulkins questioned. \u201cIf \u2062a person who is not legally in this \u200cstate can have his constitutional rights, so can the rest of us.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Illinois State Police have stated that individuals applying for\u2063 a FOID\u200c card must confirm \u200cthat they are \u201cnot an alien\u200b who is unlawfully \u200dpresent\u2064 in\u200c the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>State Rep. \u200dJohn Cabello expressed\u200b support for the possibility \u2062of the FOID card being deemed invalid under such circumstances, but stressed the importance of ensuring the safety of citizens.<\/p>\n<p>Cabello \u2064introduced House \u200bBill 5790, aimed\u2062 at \u2062<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/co-dems-move-to-censure-hickenlooper-for-voting-to-block-stimulus-checks-to-illegal-immigrants\/\" title=\"CO Dems Move to Censure Hickenlooper for Voting to Block Stimulus Checks to Illegal Immigrants\">preventing illegal immigrants<\/a> \u2064from serving in law \u2064enforcement roles and detaining legal citizens.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, \u200ca law was passed allowing\u2063 individuals \u200bauthorized to work in\u2064 the U.S. under federal law, including those under DACA, to obtain firearms.
