The \u2062entire narrative revolves around the Hess family&#8217;s life at\u2064 the concentration camp, without acknowledging the \u200bsuffering endured by the victims.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">During his Oscars speech, Glazer expressed:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><em>&#8220;Thank you to the Academy for this honor\u200d and to our partners \u2064A24, Film4, Access, and Polish Film Institute; to the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum for\u2062 their trust \u200band\u2064 guidance; to my producers, actors, and collaborators. All\u200b our choices were made to reflect and confront us in the present \u2014 not to\u2064 say, &#8216;Look what they did then,&#8217; \u200drather, &#8216;Look what we do now.&#8217; Our film\u2064 shows where\u2064 dehumanization leads, at its worst. \u2062It shaped all of our past and present. Right now we\u2064 stand here as men who refute\u2062 their Jewishness and \u200cthe Holocaust being hijacked by an occupation, which has led to conflict for\u2062 so\u200d many innocent people. Whether the victims of October the 7 in Israel or the ongoing attack on\u200c Gaza, \u200call\u200d the \u200cvictims of this dehumanization, how do\u2063 we resist?\u2063 Aleksandra\u200c Bystro\u0144-Ko\u0142odziejczyk, the girl who\u200b glows in the \u2064film, as she did in life, chose to. I dedicate this to her memory and her\u2064 resistance. Thank you.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">In response, the Holocaust survivor&#8217;s letter stated:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><em>&#8220;I am 94 years\u200b old and the sole survivor \u2063of\u2064 my family of 105 during the\u200d Holocaust. I miraculously endured nearly three years\u2064 in the \u200chell of Auschwitz \u2064and one year in the hell of\u2062 Buchenwald. I watched\u200c in anguish on Sunday night as you used the Oscars \u2063platform to equate\u200c Hamas&#8217;s \u2063brutal actions against innocent Israelis with Israel&#8217;s difficult but necessary self-defense\u2063 in \u200bthe face of ongoing barbarity.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><em>&#8220;Your comments were not only factually inaccurate\u2063 but\u200c also\u200b morally indefensible.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><em>&#8220;The &#8216;occupation&#8217; you speak of has no connection to \u200dthe\u2062 Holocaust. The\u200c Jewish\u200c people&#8217;s right to live\u200d in the land of Israel predates\u2064 the Holocaust by centuries. The current\u2062 political and\u200b geographic situation is \u2062a result of past Arab\u2064 leaders&#8217; refusal to \u2064accept Jewish people as neighbors in our\u200c historic homeland. \u200dNow, as several Arab countries embrace peace with Israel\u2063 for the betterment of all, Iran and\u200b its terrorist proxies initiate another war, supported by those who, \u2064through \u200cnaivet\u00e9 or malice, blame &#8216;the occupation.'&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><em>&#8220;What is even more disgraceful is your use \u200dof the Holocaust to validate your personal opinion. You made a Holocaust movie and won an Oscar. And yes, you \u200care Jewish. Congratulations. However, it \u2062is shameful for you to\u200d presume to speak for \u200bthe six million \u200cJews, including one\u200d and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sweden-decides-not-to-recommend-covid-19-vax-for-kids-ages-5-11\/\" title=\"Sweden Decides Not To Recommend COVID-19 Vax For Kids Ages 5-11\">half million children<\/a>, who were murdered solely because of their Jewish\u2063 identity.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><em>&#8220;It\u2062 is also disgraceful for\u2063 you to presume to \u2062speak for those of us who \u2064witnessed the world&#8217;s \u200bsilence as our loved ones were mercilessly killed. We had \u200dnowhere to go, no \u200drefuge. No country\u2063 would accept us, \u2063despite world leaders being fully aware \u200bof \u200bthe daily slaughter of thousands of Jews. By focusing solely on the lives of the perpetrators, you\u2064 perpetuate the erasure of the victims&#8217; voices \u200cand \u200bstories.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><em>&#8220;As a survivor, it is my duty to ensure that the world never forgets the atrocities committed \u2063during the Holocaust. It is my duty\u2064 to \u200bhonor \u200bthe memory of my family and the millions of others who\u200d were senselessly killed.
