Last week, \u200cFederalist Editor-in-Chief Mollie Hemingway exposed<\/a> the J6 committee for\u2064 suppressing testimony from \u200bformer \u200cWhite House Deputy Chief of Staff Anthony Ornato. In his initial interview with the\u2062 select committee\u200c on January 28, 2022, Ornato revealed that\u2064 he overheard Chief of \u2064Staff Mark Meadows urging D.C. Mayor \u2064Muriel Bowser to mobilize as many National Guard troops as\u2063 necessary.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe also testified \u2063that President Trump had suggested the need for 10,000\u2064 troops to maintain peace during the public rallies and protests scheduled for January 6, 2021,\u201d Hemingway reported. \u201cOrnato also described the White House’s\u200b frustration with Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller’s slow deployment of assistance on the afternoon of\u200c January 6, 2021.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ornato’s testimony directly\u200c contradicts\u200d the Jan. 6 committee’s\u2062 narrative of a president\u2064 inciting\u200b an “insurrection.”<\/p>\n

A \u200cfew months later,\u200c the Jan. 6\u2063 committee’s star witness, Cassidy Hutchinson, who had worked for Meadows,\u2064 publicly testified<\/a> that\u2064 Ornato had informed her that President Trump had \u200cattempted to forcefully take control of \u200bthe\u200d presidential\u200b limousine and drive himself to the Capitol during the riot. However, \u200bimmediately after Hutchinson’s dramatic appearance, Ornato stated that he was prepared to testify under oath that nothing Hutchinson described had ever occurred. Ornato \u2062had previously \u200binformed lawmakers \u200bthat there were never any plans for the president to travel to the Capitol:<\/p>\n

Ornato was not the only administration official whose testimony undermined Hutchinson’s credibility. Loudermilk’s report cited \u200d”four White House employees” whose testimonies directly contradicted Hutchinson’s claims.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, one former \u200dWhite House employee\u200b disputed Hutchinson’s testimony that Trump made \u200da comment \u2062implying support \u200cfor the execution of Vice President Mike Pence. The unnamed staffer “testified\u2063 that neither the President nor any other staff\u2063 member\u200b made \u2063comments” regarding the “Hang\u2063 Mike Pence” chants\u200b at \u2064the Capitol. <\/p>\n
