She faces up to 18 months in prison following the conviction. A date for sentencing has yet to be set.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Prosecutor Kari Morrissey said in closing arguments that \u201cthe astonishing lack of diligence with regard to gun safety is without question a significant cause of the death of Halyna Hutchins,\u201d <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/amp\/US\/rust-armorer-trial-hannah-gutierrez-closing-arguments\/story?id=107852849\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ABC News reported.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThis is not a case where Hannah Gutierrez made one mistake, and that one mistake was accidental \u2014 putting a live round into that gun,\u201d Morrissey added. \u201cThis case is about constant, neverending, safety failures that resulted in the death of a human being and nearly killed another.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">During his closing arguments, Bowles labeled Gutierrez-Reed a \u201cconvenient fall person\u201d and accused detectives of failing to conduct a thorough investigation, People magazine noted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Both Gutierrez-Reed and actor <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/sag-aftra-defends-alec-baldwin-in-rust-shooting-as-actor-prepares-to-defend-himself-against-new-charge\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Alec Baldwin<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> were charged in the fatal<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> shooting that left Hutchins dead and injured director Joel Souza.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In January, a grand jury indicted Baldwin for involuntary manslaughter following the fatal shooting, as previously <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/alec-baldwin-enters-plea-in-rust-shooting-case\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">reported<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. The firearm Baldwin was holding discharged the bullet that killed Hutchins.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\"><b>CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2024\/biz\/news\/alec-baldwin-manslaughter-rust-shooting-again-1235875855\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Variety<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, special prosecutors Morrissey and Jason Lewis presented a report to the grand jury showing that the shooting occurred by a \u201cpull or rearward depression of the trigger.\u201d <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Baldwin has repeatedly claimed there was \u201cno trigger pull.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On January 31, Baldwin entered a \u201cnot guilty\u201d plea through his attorney and waived his right to an arraignment. His trial date is set for July.
