However,\u2064 this week, something changed. The justices prioritized \u2063the law over their resistance \u200bto former president Donald Trump, and suddenly they were no longer seen as superior to \u200cthe rest of the Court.<\/p>\n<p>In\u2063 a unanimous ruling on \u200cMonday, the Supreme Court sided with Trump in his challenge \u200dto Colorado&#8217;s attempt to remove him from the 2024 GOP \u200bprimary ballot. No longer were they \u2063hailed\u200c as progressive heroes,\u200c but rather they were criticized and accused of political bias for \u200bsiding with Trump \u2064in this particular case.<\/p>\n<p>The media&#8217;s change of heart\u2064 may \u200bbe attributed to their\u2062 expectation that the liberal justices would \u200bconsistently side against Trump regardless of the legal merits of \u200cthe case. This expectation \u200dwas shattered when\u2063 the liberal justices placed the\u2063 law above their personal \u200dreservations or political inclinations. The fact that they\u200b unanimously agreed with\u200b their conservative \u2062colleagues in\u200d this matter demonstrates their commitment to the impartial application of justice.<\/p>\n<p>It is worth noting \u2064that the Supreme\u200c Court&#8217;s decision does not favor Trump, but rather affirms the principle that states cannot unilaterally bar\u200c a \u200dcandidate from running\u2064 without legal justifications. The ruling demonstrates the Court&#8217;s commitment to upholding the \u2063constitutional rights of all \u200bindividuals,\u2063 regardless\u2063 of \u2063their political affiliations.<\/p>\n<p>While it is understandable \u200dthat some individuals may\u2064 disagree with\u200b the Court&#8217;s decision, it is crucial to \u200bremember that the\u200c justices, including the\u2062 liberal\u200b ones, have a duty to interpret the law and act in accordance with the Constitution.
