He shared a screenshot showing that Trump received only 676 votes in the GOP primary, out of a city population of 700,000. Wisconsin that there are situations where &#8220;only a \u2063change\u200c of venue [is] constitutionally sufficient to assure the kind of impartial jury&#8221; required by the Sixth and 14th\u200c Amendments.<\/p>\n<p>The court has previously ruled in Rideau v. Louisiana that denying a \u200brequest for a change of venue constitutes a\u2062 denial of due process. This precedent \u200chas been applied to federal trials in Nebraska\u2062 Press Association v. Stuart and United States\u2064 v. Faul, as noted by The University of Chicago Law Review.<\/p>\n<p>However, it&#8217;s not just \u2064the jury pool that poses a potential threat to a fair trial for the\u2062 former president.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Tanya\u200d Chutkan, who presides over the case, has \u2064expressed frustration over Trump&#8217;s continued \u2063freedom. During a 2021 sentencing hearing for January 6 defendants, she remarked that &#8220;the people who exhorted you\u2062 and encouraged you and rallied you to go and take action and to fight have not been \u2062charged.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Chutkan \u200balso stated \u200cduring the\u200c sentencing of another January 6 defendant, Christine Priola, that the individuals who stormed the Capitol were loyal to \u200cone man, not to the Constitution or the \u200bprinciples of democracy.
