That is \u200cwhat Dettelbach and Bort did \u2063next.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-39ebfe0fcc93fd94a00ce4781d73d82f fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-39ebfe0fcc93fd94a00ce4781d73d82f\"><\/div>\n<p>When the conversation shifted to bump stocks, Bort agreed with Brennan \u200cthat \u201cthere\u2019s no reason you would use that for hunting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo,\u2062 I\u2064 do not believe you would use this for hunting,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is to shoot large numbers of people\u200c at \u200conce,\u201d Brennan claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Before Bort could answer, Dettelbach jumped in to explain that a \u200bbump stock was used by the Las Vegas shooter in 2017 to kill 58 and injure hundreds more.<\/p>\n<p>The ATF previously allowed law-abiding Americans to own and use non-mechanical bump stocks to aid with trigger dexterity, but redefined them \u200bas \u201cmachine guns\u201d shortly after the \u200d2017 tragedy. The ATF\u2019s rushed rule forced\u200b Americans to destroy or surrender their lawfully acquired non-mechanical bump stocks or face felony charges.\u2063 That led to a slew\u200d of lawsuits and court decisions.<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme \u2063Court heard\u200b oral\u2062 arguments last month\u2064 to determine \u200dif the ATF has the authority\u2064 to ban bump \u2063stocks based on claims the\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/in-bump-stock-arguments-constitution-hating-justices-prove-they-have-no-idea-how-guns-work\/\" title=\"Constitution-Hating Justices Show Ignorance on Bump Stock Issue\">assistive casing transforms semiautomatic rifles<\/a> into machine guns. The court is \u200bexpected to rule on the case this summer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo these could, in theory, be back on the market \u200dafter June?\u201d Brennan asked, clearly displeased with the possibility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Supreme Court will rule how it rules \u200band \u2063we\u2019ll follow the line. If they say \u200dthat \u2063it can\u2019t be regulated, it\u2019ll just have to be the application of the National Firearms Act \u2062without that particular. Depends on what they say \u200band how they say it,\u201d Dettelbach said.<\/p>\n<h3>Misunderstanding Pistol Braces \u200dand\u200b 3D-Printed Guns<\/h3>\n<p>Dettelbach expressed the same belief \u2062about pistol braces. The ATF barred \u200bthose via a \u200crule that, if not stopped in courts, could have turned up to 40 million Americans who\u200c legally obtained pistol \u200cbrace-equipped firearms into federal\u2064 felons.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe two weapons\u200b are designed \u2062to be fired from the shoulder identically,\u201d Dettelbach claimed of pistol-brace equipped firearms and the \u200dNational Firearms Act-regulated\u2064 short-barrel rifle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey all look\u2064 the same,\u201d Brennan added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRight, so we\u2019re treating them \u2064the same,\u201d Dettelbach said.<\/p>\n<p>Dettelbach also claimed gun\u200c owners\u200b are using\u2062 3D-printed plastic\u2062 guns\u2064 and modifications\u2062 to change\u200c their semi-automatic weapons \u200cto \u201cfunctionally, to do the\u2062 things that a \u200dfully automatic weapon\u201d \u200bdoes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo now,\u2064 do-it-yourselfers who are not in the law enforcement community, who are not in the military, can break the law by doing what I was talking about before,\u201d Dettelbach said.<\/p>\n<p>Bort confirmed the ATF is \u2063\u201cseeing this on\u200b the \u2062rise with gangs, cartels,\u201d and other criminal groups. Yet Dettelbach repeatedly insisted it is law-abiding American citizens who purchase guns \u2063through licensed federal firearm dealers who must face bans or\u200b register and pay extra for \u200bgun parts.<\/p>\n<p>Dettelbach pinned the bulk\u200b of the 3D-printed weapons problem not on the presence of criminal organizations emboldened by open borders\u2063 but on Americans the ATF head claimed are responsible for manufacturing \u201cmost\u200d of the weapons that \u200dgo to the cartels.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd they flow south over the border,\u201d Dettelbach claimed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the Mexican \u2064government constantly complains,\u201d Brennan added.<\/p>\n<p>Dettelbach concluded the segment by \u2062begging\u2063 federal firearms dealers to help\u2062 his agency stop straw purchases\u200b and other firearm-buying crimes.
