Byron Donalds (R-FL) chided a writer for referring to supporters of former President Donald Trump as a threat to democracy, calling his claims \u201cdevoid of facts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> Cohen, a former lawyer for Trump, wrote an opinion piece on a recently published book titled White Rural Rage: The Threat to American Democracy, which claims that Trump supports face various stereotypes, such as being a rural resident who is racist, someone who believes in conspiracy theories, and someone who is willing violence to achieve their goals. In Cohen\u2019s commentary, he wrote that the two authors of the book, University of Maryland professor Tom Schaller and former Washington Post columnist Paul Waldman, \u201cpersuasively argue that most of the negative stereotypes liberals hold about rural Americans are actually true.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> \u201cI find it to just be insane,\u201d Donalds said on Fox News Sunday in reaction to Cohen\u2019s claims. \u201cI find it to be gaslighting black people and Hispanic people in our country. I find to be devoid of facts. Michael Cohen has obviously has never been to a Trump rally and actually talked to Trump voters. That is a lie. It is disgusting that we\u2019re even having this conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>  Donalds then stated that those who are MAGA Republicans, an acronym standing for \u201cMake America Great Again,\u201d want the leaders of the United States to \u201cput America first, not last.\u201d Among these desires is wanting a secure border, lower inflation, and being \u201crespected across the globe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> The Florida lawmaker then offered Cohen a chance to attend a Trump rally to see for himself what Trump supporters are really like.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cI\u2019ll walk side by side with him, and he can see what\u2019s really going on, instead of putting up with this foolishness,\u201d Donalds said.<\/p>\n<p> CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/p>\n<p> Donalds has been a vocal supporter of the former president, also stating on Sunday that Trump\u2019s opponent in the Republican presidential primary, former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley, has \u201cno path to victory\u201d ahead of Super Tuesday. The Florida lawmaker is also rumored to be a possible candidate for Trump\u2019s vice presidential nominee, a position he said he would be open to.<\/p>\n<p> President Joe Biden is seeking reelection this November, setting the stage for a rematch between him and Trump.
