The Iowa Hawkeyes went on to win the contest by a 93-83 score.<\/p>\n<p>Clark, an Iowa native, is a guard for the Hawkeyes in her fourth season. Her accomplishment on Sunday was met with widespread praise, including from high-profile politicians from her home state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHistory is made! And though Maravich was\u00a0known to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nba.com\/news\/history-nba-legend-pete-maravich\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a long-range bomber<\/a>, he played while limited to\u00a0two-point shots.<\/p>\n<p>Sports Illustrated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/college\/2020\/04\/02\/ncaa-introduces-three-point-line-this-day-history\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> the NCAA did not universally adopt the three-pointer until 1986.
