This is unbelievable. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/yA2PILM9yk\">pic.twitter.com\/yA2PILM9yk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Glenn Beck (@glennbeck) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/glennbeck\/status\/1763593019654021560?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 1, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Baker was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblaze.com\/news\/blaze-news-investigative-writer-steve-baker-whos-been-reporting-on-january-6-handcuffed-charged\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">charged<\/a> with four misdemeanors related to his reporting at the U.S. Capitol back on January 6, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The four charges are knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly conduct in a capitol building; and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a capitol building.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, the FBI ordered Baker to surrender himself on Friday morning. Baker said the FBI told him to arrive at the field office in \u201cshorts and sandals,\u201d but he arrived in a suit and tie instead.<\/p>\n<p>Baker <a class=\"rm-stats-tracked\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theblaze.com\/news\/blaze-media-investigative-journalist-steve-baker-says-justice-department-will-be-charging-him-for-his-jan-6-reporting\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> back in December that he expected the Justice Department to charge him over his reporting on January 6. On Tuesday, he spoke out about his upcoming arrest, stating that he was required to turn himself in at 7 a.m. and that he would be transported to the Dallas courthouse for a 10 a.m. hearing before the magistrate.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8BREAKING\ud83e\uddf5- This time, it\u2019s really happening.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike the two previous threats my attorneys received from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FBI?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@FBI<\/a> \/ <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheJusticeDept?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@thejusticedept<\/a> (Nov. 21 and Dec. 23), my self-surrender for alleged J6 crimes is set for this Friday morning in Dallas, TX. There is now a signed arrest warrant.\u2b07\ufe0f<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Steve Baker \u2013 TPC (@TPC4USA) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TPC4USA\/status\/1762652438727627133?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 28, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cMy attorneys have also been assured by the gov. that this will be an \u2018in and out\u2019 affair and that they have \u2018no intention\u2019 of detaining me,\u201d Baker said. \u201cBut, rather than issuing a simple order to appear, they seem to feel the need to give me a dose of the personal humiliation treatment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Beck, who is also the co-founder of Blaze Media, expressed his support for Baker on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen the United States government can come after individuals, that\u2019s when you know our republic is crumbling. I\u2019ve always said that if they can go after Donald Trump, they will go after people like you and me. And now they are. But Steve Baker is not deterred, and neither are we,\u201d Beck <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblaze.com\/columns\/opinion\/free-press-under-fire-steve-bakers-battle-and-ours\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a> in an op-ed.<\/p>\n<p>The federal investigation into Baker began before he joined The Blaze when he was an independent journalist.<\/p>\n<p>The charging documents against Baker reference a YouTube video in which he allegedly said he followed rioters into former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi\u2019s office on January 6.<\/p>\n<p>In that video, Baker said the \u201conly thing I regret\u201d is that he did not steal computers because \u201cGod knows what I could\u2019ve found,\u201d according to the documents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey got Pelosi\u2019s office and it couldn\u2019t happen to a more deserving b****,\u201d Baker said in the video, according to the documents.<\/p>\n<p>In another video that Baker allegedly recorded outside the Capitol, he said, \u201cLook out your windows b****es, look what\u2019s coming,\u201d the documents note.<\/p>\n<p>Later in a local news interview, Baker said he was \u201cquite excited to see this going on,\u201d adding, \u201cDo I approve of what happened today? I approve 100%.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Baker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.glennbeck.com\/radio\/jan-6-journalist-fbi-arrest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> in an interview this week that it is \u201ccommon\u201d for law enforcement to allow the press to cross a police line to document events of public interest.<\/p>\n<p>He accused the government of \u201cselective prosecution,\u201d saying that dozens of other reporters entered the Capitol on January 6.<\/p>\n<p>Since January 6, Baker\u2019s reporting on January 6 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblaze.com\/columns\/analysis\/harry-dunns-account-of-january-6-does-not-add-up-at-all\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">questioned<\/a> whether a Capitol Police officer perjured himself in the trial of the Oath Keepers.
