\u201cYou do not have evidence to support the baseless\u200d and MAGA-motivated conspiracies,\u201d he continued before claiming the only basis for the claims of Biden family corruption came from criminals, fugitives, or other liars.<\/p>\n
But no matter how many times Hunter evoked the name of Alexander Smirnov \u2014 the recently indicted FBI confidential human source who allegedly lied about Burisma paying the Bidens bribes, as\u2063 memorialized in the FD-1023 \u2014 bank records and the testimony of Biden-friendly witnesses negate \u200dHunter\u2019s claims of a conspiracy theory. <\/p>\n
There are only so many coincidences the American public will buy before realizing they\u2019re being sold a bag of malarkey. Evidence of\u2062 large deposits to Hunter Biden-connected businesses from foreigners in Joe Biden\u2019s wake leaves Hunter\u2019s claim of a conspiracy unbelievable.<\/p>\n

2. I Called \u2062Upon the Wrong Guy<\/h2>\n

Probably the most incredible area of Hunter\u2019s testimony was his explanation for a\u200c text he\u2062 sent to Raymond Zhao, asking him to \u200chave the director of CEFC \u200bcall him. \u201cI\u2019m sitting here with my father,\u201d Hunter\u200c texted Zhao, \u201cand we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. I\u2019m very concerned that the \u2062chairman \u200chas either changed \u2063his mind or broken our \u200ddeal without telling me or that he\u2019s unaware of the promises \u2063and assurances that have been made have not been kept.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cTell the director I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of\u200d hand, and now means tonight,\u201d Hunter continued, adding that \u201cif I get\u200c a call or text from\u2063 anyone involved in this\u2063 other than\u2063 you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and \u2064every person\u2062 he knows and my ability to forever hold \u200da grudge that you will regret not following direction. All too often people mistake\u2063 kindness for weakness, and all too often I\u2019m standing \u200dover the top \u2062of\u2063 them saying, I warned \u2064you.\u201d <\/p>\n

This text exchange was incredibly damning because the \u2063players involved were \u2062 connected<\/a> to the communist Chinese energy company CEFC, which later\u200b transferred $5 million in capital to a company Hunter Biden created only a few days after the above text exchange.<\/p>\n

But don\u2019t \u2062worry, Hunter assured the committee. \u2062His text went\u200c to \u200cthe wrong guy because he was \u201cso\u2063 out of his mind\u201d from his addiction, he had accidentally sent \u2064the \u200dthreat to \u201cHenry Zhao,\u201d who was not connected to CEFC.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd I, like an idiot, directed it towards \u2062Henry Zhao\u2062 who had no involvement, who had no understanding or even remotely knew what the hell I was even Godd-mn talking about. Excuse my language,\u201d Hunter told the committee.<\/p>\n
First, given the quick response to Hunter\u2019s text from CEFC, it is unbelievable\u2064 that the text didn\u2019t go to the CEFC-connected Zhao. Second, even \u2063if Hunter basically drunk-dialed the wrong mark,\u2062 that doesn\u2019t exonerate him or his father \u2014 the latter of whom, the evidence\u2064 establishes, helped Hunter by showcasing his accessibility to \u200bhis\u200c son\u2019s\u200c business partners. <\/p>\n
In short, \u200cthe text shows Hunter intended to shakedown CEFC, and \u200dthe $5 million suggests he succeeded.<\/p>\n
3. Burisma Wanted Me to Call My\u2026 Teen Daughters?<\/h2>\n

A close second for the most outrageous storyline concerned the call to D.C. that Hunter Biden\u2019s \u200cbusiness partner and friend Devon Archer claims Hunter made at the request of \u200dBurisma executives. <\/p>\n
Archer, \u200ba Biden-friendly witness, had previously testified<\/a> to the House Judiciary Committee that in early December 2015, after a Burisma board meeting, the founder of the Ukrainian energy\u200b company \u2064had asked\u200d Hunter \u200cto call D.C. because\u2062 of pressure being placed on the company. In\u2063 a follow-up \u2062question, Archer confirmed the Burisma request was for \u201chelp from the United States Government to deal with the pressure they were under \u2063from their prosecutor, and that entailed the freezing of assets at the London bank and other things that were going on in Ukraine.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to Hunter\u2019s friend and former business partner, Hunter stepped away with the Burisma executives to make the \u200bcall to D.C. But when asked about the call on Wednesday, Hunter testified, \u2062\u201cI \u200bnever would have called, and never did my father on behalf of \u2062Burisma.\u201d <\/p>\n
So, whom did he call? <\/p>\n
Hunter didn\u2019t remember but suggested it was his wife or his high school-aged daughters<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Revisiting Archer\u2019s testimony from last year added another improbability to Hunter Biden\u2019s\u2063 testimony\u2064 \u2014 this one concerning \u201cthe big guy\u201d \u2064moniker. <\/p>\n
When questioned about the\u2062 reference to 10\u2063 percent being \u201cheld by H \u200dfor the big guy,\u201d Hunter claimed not to know what that meant. And when questioned by Democrats on the committee about Joe Biden\u2019s nicknames, Hunter\u200d denied his family referred to Joe as \u201cthe big \u2063guy.\u201d <\/p>\n
Tony Bobulinski, however, testified\u200b previously that \u201cthe big guy\u201d was Joe Biden\u2019s nickname.\u2062 And while Hunter\u2062 Biden claimed Bobulinski was a liar and not to be believed, Archer also used \u2064that nickname in an apparent reference\u200c to Joe Biden in his testimony, saying Burisma wasn\u2019t \u201cspecific, you know, can the big guy help? It was \u2014 it\u2019s always this amorphous, can we get help in\u200d D.C.?\u201d<\/p>\n
5. \u2018My \u2063Chairman\u2019 is Absolutely, Positively Not Daddy<\/h2>\n

Also \u2062ringing hollow was Hunter \u2064Biden\u2019s assertion \u200bthat \u201cmy chairman\u201d was not his father. House investigators\u200b asked Hunter about a text he had sent to Bobulinski, in which he said, \u201cIn light of the fact that we are at an \u200dimpasse of sorts, and both James\u2019 lawyers and my chairman gave\u2063 an emphatic no \u2014 I think we should all \u200dmeet in Romania on Tuesday next week.\u201d <\/p>\n
Hunter \u200dwent on to \u200dsay that \u201cmy chairman\u201d was Chairman Ye of the Chinese \u2062company CEFC. Hunter then testified that he didn\u2019t ever refer to \u2062his father as \u201cmy chairman,\u201d \u200dcalling the suggestion \u201claughable.\u201d <\/p>\n
The Republican\u200b committee members confronted Hunter with a text his business partner Rob Walker had sent to Bobulinski that said, \u201cWhen he said his chairman, he was talking about his dad.\u201d <\/p>\n
Hunter sought to \u200cnegate Walker\u2019s testimony by claiming it was merely one \u2062\u201cthird party that was talking with another third party\u201d who was \u201cmaking a judgment about what I\u2062 was talking about.\u201d <\/p>\n
Hunter then reverted to, \u201c[Y]ou have my answer\u200c under oath that I did not refer and never\u200c have referred to my father as chairman.\u201d<\/p>\n
His \u201cunder oath\u201d guarantee isn\u2019t very assuring, however, given \u2064that Hunter had earlier stressed his long-standing relationship<\/a> with Rob Walker \u2014 the third party who identified\u2062 \u201cmy chairman\u201d as Joe Biden.\u201d \u201cRob \u2063Walker has known me since 1998,\u201d Hunter testified. In fact, Hunter claimed Walker would have told their other business partners\u2062 they \u200bwere \u201cway out of bounds\u201d if Walker knew they were suggesting getting Joe Biden\u200d involved in their business deals.<\/p>\n
So it sure seems like Walker would know whether Hunter\u200c would refer to his father \u200das \u201cmy chairman.\u201d <\/p>\n
6. The Laptop Was a Plant<\/h2>\n

While many of Hunter\u2019s \u2064explanations were unbelievable, his claims about the laptop the\u200b FBI seized from a Delaware \u200crepair shop were surreal.<\/p>\n
When asked about his \u200blaptop \u200bfrom hell, Hunter claimed first not to remember dropping one \u200boff at a repair store\u2064 in 2019. Then, when asked if he\u200c ever dropped off a laptop at a repair shop, Hunter spoke of dropping one off at a place \u200cthree blocks from his D.C. office and at an Apple store in Georgetown. <\/p>\n
When pushed on whether he had ever left a laptop for repair in\u2063 Delaware, Hunter replied that \u201cthe largest Apple store \u200din America is \u2063at the Christiana Mall,\u201d and that if he were \u200d\u201cto drop off a laptop\u201d \u2014 not that he \u201cever remember[ed] doing that, but if [he] was going to drop off \u200ca laptop\u201d \u2014 he \u201cwould\u200b have gone to the Apple store, which was 7 minutes from [his] parents\u2019 home there.\u201d <\/p>\n
In other words, Hunter is claiming he wouldn\u2019t<\/em> \u200chave dropped his laptop off \u200bat Mac Isaac\u2019s store to suggest he didn\u2019t<\/em>. This outrageous assertion is part of\u2063 a conspiracy theory that suggests the laptop abandoned at the Delaware repair shop was a plant. <\/p>\n
Hunter also pushed another false narrative by suggesting much\u2062 of the \u200cevidence recovered from the laptop was \u200bfake. <\/p>\n
\u201cMany different things\u201d on the laptop were \u201ceither fabricated, hacked, stolen, or manipulated.\u201d \u201c100 percent,\u201d\u2062 Hunter testified on Wednesday. <\/p>\n
Of course, when it came to identifying\u2063 which ones, Hunter insisted, \u201cI can\u2019t go through them all right now.\u201d <\/p>\n
7. My Resume Is Real \u2014 And It\u2019s Spectacular<\/h2>\n<\/ol>\n
Throughout the transcribed\u2064 interview, \u200bHunter also attempted to deflect questions about\u200c his \u200dlucrative \u2062service on Burisma\u2019s board \u2062of directors by\u200d touting his\u200b resume. But when pushed on what he actually did for Burisma for a million-dollar paycheck, Hunter\u2019s explanation of attending board \u2063meetings and \u201cproviding the best advice that\u2062 I could give\u201d convinced no one. <\/p>\n
That was especially true given that the one thing Hunter should have been giving advice about \u2014 Burisma\u2019s various legal\u200d problems \u2014 the president\u2019s son claimed to \u2062know nothing about. Specifically, according to his Wednesday testimony, he did not know \u2063Burisma was under \u200dinvestigation in the U.K. for money laundering and had $23 million of \u200dassets frozen\u200c until \u201cit became public.\u201d <\/p>\n
One would think a board member \u2063bearing the impressive resume of Hunter Biden \u2063and \u200bcharged with overseeing corporate governance would know about an investigation and frozen assets before \u201cit became public.\u201d <\/p>\n
8. That\u2019s Not My Money\u2026 Until It Is My Money <\/h2>\n

Another eyebrow-raising refrain from Hunter Biden \u2062concerned \u2062payments into\u200d accounts held in the name of Rosemont Seneca Bohai and Rosemont Seneca Thornton. Those \u2062entities were Devon Archer\u2019s, and as such, the money deposited into those accounts from foreigners \u2064wasn\u2019t Hunter\u2019s, the\u2062 president\u2019s son suggested. <\/p>\n
