Moira battled Stage 3 breast cancer, while Mac fought against chordoma.\u2062 Sinise\u2064 described the\u2062 shock and devastation of facing two cancer diagnoses \u200bin such a\u200c short span of time.<\/p>\n<p>Determined to understand and support\u200b his son,\u2063 Sinise embarked\u2064 on a research journey to learn everything he could\u2063 about chordoma.\u200b While \u200cMoira eventually went into remission and remained cancer-free, Mac&#8217;s cancer \u200dreturned and spread.<\/p>\n<p>Despite being paralyzed\u2063 from the chest down, Mac&#8217;s passion for music remained unwavering. With the help of former classmate Oliver Schnee and two members of the Lt.\u2063 Dan Band, \u200dBen Lewis and\u200b Dan Myers, Mac \u200ccompleted a musical composition he had started in college called \u2062&#8221;Arctic Circles.&#8221; The piece was recorded in July of 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Mac&#8217;s mother suggested he learn to \u200cplay the harmonica, and he eagerly took up the instrument. Sinise shared\u2062 a touching story of a \u200bfriend, Medal of\u200b Honor\u200b recipient Sammy L. Davis, \u2063who played the harmonica while serving in\u200c Vietnam. Mac recorded a rendition of &#8220;Shenandoah&#8221;\u200b on the \u2063harmonica as well.<\/p>\n<p>These musical endeavors\u2062 sparked a larger vision for \u200dMac, who wanted to create an entire album\u2064 titled <i>Resurrection &#038; Revival<\/i>.\u200b The \u2062album aimed \u2063to breathe new life into old or unfinished works.
