Part three, \u2062below, examines how the Israel-Hamas war is creating political \u200dconsequences for \u200dPresident Joe Biden with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/poll-shows-dems-now-the-party-of-white-collar-workers-republicans-more-working-class\/\" title=\"Poll Shows Dems Now the Party of White-collar Workers, Republicans More Working Class\">key voting blocs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>DEARBORN, Michigan \u2014 \u2062President Joe Biden is\u200d not only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sununu-to-gop-candidates-call-balls-and-strikes-with-trump-dont-make-things-personal\/\" title=\"Sununu advises GOP candidates: Be fair with Trump, avoid personal attacks.\">facing political consequences<\/a> for his handling of\u200c the Israel\u2013Hamas war with Arab \u2063and Muslim voters but also black and young\u2064 people, many of whom were already skeptical \u200dof his administration&#8217;s record and community outreach.<\/p>\n<p>The common interests and concerns of Arab, Muslim, black, \u2062and young \u200cpeople are poised to be underscored \u2064by \u2063Tuesday&#8217;s Democratic \u200bpresidential primary \u2064in Michigan, a battleground state \u2063where Democrats are being encouraged not to vote \u2064for Biden, at least this\u2064 week, and where margins will\u200d matter\u200b in November&#8217;s general election.<\/p>\n<p>Sameh Elhady, \u200cvice chairman of the Michigan \u200dDemocratic Party&#8217;s Arab American Caucus, described\u200d how his community has found &#8220;connections&#8221; with people \u2063from different backgrounds, from young liberal Democrats to\u2062 black and Latino people, during the war\u200c regarding\u200b their disappointment with Biden as he and his administration try to\u200d appeal \u200bto those traditionally Democratic \u200bdemographics before November.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They\u200b are expressing also\u2064 a certain level of pain based on humanity,&#8221;\u200c Elhady\u2064 said. &#8220;We are not the same. (AP \u2062Photo\/Evan Vucci, File) &#8220;He was very quick to \u2064come out in\u200c and condemn \u2064the Putin regime for targeting civilians, but when it comes to Palestinian\u200d civilians \u2063being \u2063targeted by Israel, or \u200dwhen Yemeni civilians were \u200dbeing targeted by bombs given to the [United Arab Emirates] and Saudi Arabia, then that was all \u200djustified,&#8221; Walid, a black Muslim, said. &#8220;The reason\u2064 why Black Lives \u2062Matter was started as a slogan is because\u200b black people felt that black lives\u200d didn&#8217;t matter as\u2064 much in America as white lives. Well, it \u200clooks like white European lives matter more than Arab \u2064and\u2063 Muslim lives to the Biden \u200badministration.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Some black people&#8217;s \u200csupport of Palestinians dates back to the 1960s, \u2063most notably Malcolm X, who spent two days in Gaza in 1964. But for Wayne University \u2063political science professor Ronald Brown,\u200b Biden&#8217;s problems with Michigan&#8217;s Arab, Muslim, and black people are &#8220;combined,&#8221;\u2062 &#8220;linked together in terms\u200d of the age cohort phenomenon,&#8221; a traditionally Democratic\u200d demographic with which Biden has\u2062 struggled and is now making overtures to with climate change and student loans.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Younger black Americans are\u2062 saying they see themselves linked to the Palestinian cause, and that goes back to George Floyd,&#8221; \u2064Brown said from\u200b Wayne County, \u200cwhich includes Detroit and Dearborn. &#8220;I\u2063 think\u200c the George Floyd murder during COVID reenergized or \u2064reinforced\u2062 this idea among black activists about color and race and oppression.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Michigan \u2064State University political science assistant professor Nura Sediqe\u200b also pointed\u2062 to the 2014 protests in \u2064Ferguson, Missouri,\u2062 after the death of Michael Brown.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Between young Democrats, \u200cprogressive Jews, Arab Americans, American Muslims, this is a \u200cstory that&#8217;s bigger than just Arab Americans because the concern \u200bover Gaza spreads into particularly young Americans,&#8221; Sediqe\u200b said. &#8220;Young Americans \u2014 we \u200bcall them the TikTok generation \u2014 they&#8217;re \u200binformation sharing between themselves on these social networks, and they&#8217;re much more attuned and sort of in favor \u200bof \u200ca \u2062ceasefire in\u200c a way that other\u200d generations aren&#8217;t.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It remains \u200cto be seen what repercussions \u2063Tuesday&#8217;s primary, in which \u200dDemocrats\u2063 who oppose Biden&#8217;s approach \u200cto the war are being implored to\u200d mark themselves as &#8220;uncommitted&#8221; or otherwise express their disapproval, happening during spring\u200d break will \u2062have on the election. The Listen to Michigan\u200b campaign, endorsed\u200d by\u2062 Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Dearborn Mayor\u2062 Abdullah Hammoud, and even 2020 Democratic presidential\u2062 candidate Beto O&#8217;Rourke, is aiming for 10,000 &#8220;uncommitted&#8221; votes on Tuesday. Biden \u200cwon Michigan in the 2020 election by \u2064154,000 votes. That&#8217;s all\u200c you need. \u2062You don&#8217;t need that\u2063 much.
