Out of them, five were not eligible to be on the ballot. The one that did result in a recall election occurred on September\u200c 14<sup>th<\/sup>,\u200c 2021,\u200b yet, \u2063it was rejected by the state\u2019s overwhelming Democrat majority at 62% to 38%.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cEarlier today, the same \u2063Trump Republicans who led \u200dthe recall effort against me in 2021 announced they are launching another recall campaign against me this year,\u201d Newsom said on Monday, referencing 2024\u2064 presidential front-runner Donald Trump. \u201cWe beat them once\u2014handily\u2014and we\u2019ll do it again if we must.
