They are pretending that the suspect who assaulted, kidnapped, imprisoned, and murdered 22-year-old University of Georgia nursing student Laken Hope Riley was just a nearby resident, when in \u2064fact he is an illegal alien from Venezuela\u2064 with \u2064a criminal history.<\/p>\n<p>The day after Riley&#8217;s body was found following her disappearance during a morning run \u2064on her \u2064university&#8217;s campus, Jose Ibarra, an illegal immigrant, \u2062was\u200d charged with several felonies \u2063related to her death.<\/p>\n<p>This revelation has sparked outrage among\u200b Americans\u200b who have\u200b noticed a disturbing pattern of preventable crimes committed by foreigners who crossed the open border under the Biden \u2064administration&#8217;s watch. They even \u2063invoked the case of \u200cMollie Tibbetts, a \u2062University of\u2064 Iowa\u200b student who was murdered by\u200c an illegal border crosser \u2064in \u200c2018, \u200cbut conveniently failed to mention the murderer&#8217;s immigration status.<\/p>\n<p>The Atlanta Journal-Constitution also misidentified \u200dIbarra\u2063 as an &#8220;Athens man.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>CNN claimed that\u2062 Ibarra was\u2062 &#8220;of Athens&#8221; and emphasized that he does \u2063not have an &#8220;extensive&#8221; criminal history,\u2064 despite evidence to the contrary.<\/p>\n<p>Contrary \u2062to\u2062 CNN&#8217;s claim,\u2062 Ibarra did\u2063 have several run-ins with American law enforcement after \u200cillegally entering the U.S. He\u200b could have been one\u200b of the many \u200ccriminals fleeing Venezuela, \u2062contributing to\u2064 the drop in violent\u2062 crime rates in the\u2063 country.<\/p>\n<p>The day \u2062after Ibarra&#8217;s arrest was\u200d announced, \u200cAxios promoted an article claiming that the idea of an &#8220;open \u200cborder&#8221; between the U.S. \u2063and Mexico is a myth, which is \u2062factually inaccurate.<\/p>\n<p>Suggesting\u2062 that \u200bIbarra was \u2064merely an Athens resident,\u200c rather than a foreigner with a\u200c history of lawbreaking who took advantage of the open\u2063 border crisis, is not only factually\u200c inaccurate but also deliberately deceptive.
