One of the two resolutions, both obtained by the Dispatch, would recommit the RNC to neutrality until a candidate ⁣has amassed the necessary 1,215 required delegates⁣ and would prevent current campaign staff from joining RNC leadership‍ until a candidate has reached the threshold.

“RESOLVED, That the Republican ⁤National Committee and its leadership will stay neutral throughout the Presidential primary‌ and not take on additional staff from any‍ of the active Presidential campaigns until a nominee is clearly determined by reaching 1,215 delegates,” the draft resolution said, per the outlet.

Trump’s ‌slate of endorsements for RNC leadership includes⁤ his co-campaign manager‌ Chris LaCivita, who the‍ former president has endorsed to be the committee’s COO. The other picks by Trump include North Carolina⁣ Republican Party Chairman Michael Whatley for ‍chairman and his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, for co-chairwoman.

The other resolution obtained by the Dispatch would ‌affirm that the RNC “will ⁤not pay the legal bills of any of ⁢our candidates for any federal or state office, but will focus our spending on efforts directly related to the 2024 election cycle.”

In response to the “absurd” proposals, LaCivita declared Saturday that the primary ‍was “over” and argued efforts⁤ to delay defeating President ⁢Joe Biden ⁢and working to win in November would assist the “destruction of our nation.”

“The primary is over, and it is the RNC’s sole responsibility to defeat Joe Biden and win back the⁢ White House. It aims to uphold the democratic principles of the Republican Party by allowing ‍all presidential hopefuls to compete on an equal playing field.

The second resolution focuses on financial matters, specifically restricting the use ‍of RNC funds for Donald Trump’s legal fees. After his presidency, Trump has faced numerous legal challenges, including impeachment trials, ongoing ⁣investigations, and civil suits. Some argue that ‍it ‍is not the ⁢responsibility of the RNC to financially‌ support these⁤ legal‍ battles.

While ⁢the⁢ RNC has previously covered legal expenses for ‌its candidates, ⁤including former presidents, there is a growing sentiment within the⁣ committee that it ‍is⁣ time⁢ to change this practice. Supporters of the ‍resolution believe that the RNC should prioritize its resources ‌towards party-building activities and supporting candidates who align‌ with its values, rather⁢ than ‍shouldering the burden of legal expenses.

Nevertheless, the resolutions are not without their critics. Some argue that the RNC should continue to ⁣back Trump, as he remains a popular figure within ⁣the Republican Party ‍and⁣ retains⁢ a significant base of support. They believe that restricting financial support for⁣ Trump’s legal battles could‌ be seen as turning their backs on a former president and hindering party unity.

However, proponents of the resolutions‍ argue that it ⁤is crucial for the RNC to ⁤maintain neutrality ⁣and focus on the party’s <a href="https://www.conservativenewsdaily.net/breaking-news/greta-thunberg-is-wrong-americans-should-be-first-in-line-for-american-made-vaccines/" title="Greta Thunberg Is Wrong.
