By the time 65% of the votes\u200c were \u2064casted, Trump \u200dhad a nearly 20-point\u2064 lead. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThis was a little sooner \u2062than we anticipated. She praised Trump on his\u200c win in her concession statement on Saturday night, but she also claimed that he is \u201cnot the Republican most likely to defeat \u2064United States President Joe Biden\u201d in November.<\/p>\n<p>She also declared that she is \u2062not leaving just yet.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cWhat I saw today was \u2064South Carolina\u2019s frustration with our country\u2019s direction. I\u2019ve seen that sense of frustration nationwide,\u201d Haley said at a campaign\u200b event. \u201cThis \u2064has never been about\u200b me or my political future. We need to\u200b beat Joe Biden in November. I don\u2019t believe Donald \u200cTrump can beat Joe Biden,\u201d she said, adding that Trump \u201cdrives people away.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThere are huge\u200b numbers of voters in our Republican primaries who are saying they want\u200b an alternative,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>With \u200chis win in South\u2062 Carolina, \u2064Trump is getting closer to securing the GOP nomination. By 9:00 p.m., as the votes came in, he had amassed nine more of the 21 delegates that the congressional district results awarded.<\/p>\n<p>So far in the 2024 election cycle, Trump has emerged victorious in every primary, surpassing his opponents by double digits in Nevada, Iowa, New Hampshire, and the\u2063 United States Virgin Islands.<\/p>\n<p>In the week before the primary, Trump recruited a\u200b retinue of surrogates, including Lara Trump and 2024 contender Vivek Ramaswamy, to\u200b campaign\u2062 on his behalf in South Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to\u2064 an audience of about 6,000 people on Friday night in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Trump predicted that Haley would have a \u201cvery bad day\u201d on Saturday because she is \u201cnot a nice person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Supporters of\u2062 Trump, including the former president himself and former 2024 contender Senator Tim Scott have voiced their opinion about wanting Haley eliminated from the race, asserting that she is \u201churting the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stay \u2063informed!
