However,\u2062 lawmakers are left in the dark about the purpose of these vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Despite objections \u2063from two Republicans and one Democrat on \u2063the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, Willis&#8217;s request was \u2063approved by four Democratic members. The dissenting trio raised\u200c concerns about the lack of justification \u200cfor the \u200dpurchase of 16 additional vehicles, especially considering that Willis has\u2062 already spent more than $1.2 million on vehicles for her office since 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Adding to the controversy, the Republicans also\u200d criticized Willis for stonewalling \u200cthe\u2064 county\u200d audit\u2064 committee&#8217;s investigation into her potential misuse of taxpayer funds to hire her lover to prosecute former \u200dpresident Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;So we\u2019re just supposed\u2062 to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fani-willis-secures-the-bag-gets-600k-in-taxpayer-funded-cars-while-stonewalling-county-audit\/\" title=\"Fani Willis gets 0K in taxpayer-funded cars, stalls county audit\">blindly approve vehicles<\/a> without knowing exactly what they\u2019re being used for?&#8221;\u2063 commissioner Bridget Thorne asked \u2063during Wednesday\u2019s \u200crecess meeting.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I\u2019ve got a list \u200bof all the\u2064 vehicles in her pool. It\u200b looks like a lot of them have been unassigned. She has over\u200b 20 that are unassigned\u2062 here. I don\u2019t know why\u2064 she would \u2064need more vehicles if she\u2019s not using the vehicles she has.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Meanwhile, Judge Scott McAfee is \u2063considering\u2064 whether to remove Willis\u200d from the \u2062Trump case due \u200cto her relationship with \u2064special prosecutor \u200dNathan\u200d Wade. Wade used his earnings from\u2064 the case to treat Willis\u200c to extravagant vacations. \u200dWhile Willis testified that their relationship \u2064began after she hired him in 2022, a former friend of Willis testified that they started their affair \u2064in 2019. McAfee is expected \u200cto make a ruling on Willis&#8217;s disqualification \u200csoon.<\/p>\n<p>Willis&#8217;s written justification\u2063 for the \u2064request only\u2062 mentioned the \u2062purchase of 16 various 2023 Ford model law\u200c enforcement administrative vehicles for her office. She claimed that the county could save money through volume buying.<\/p>\n<p>Commissioner Bob Ellis, chair of the county\u200d audit committee, argued that the board should not consider Willis&#8217;s request until she provides the information demanded in\u200b his \u200bprevious letter regarding\u2062 her office&#8217;s transactions with Wade.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Willis is facing\u200b scrutiny at\u2063 the federal level \u200dfor her use of\u2062 taxpayer funds. \u200cThe House Judiciary Committee \u200chas \u2063subpoenaed her for documents related to allegations that she fired a \u200cwhistleblower who tried to prevent the misappropriation of a $488,000 federal youth gang prevention grant.<\/p>\n<p>The whistleblower, Amanda Timpson, recorded a meeting in November 2021 where \u2063she warned Willis\u200d about the misuse of funds. Willis did not dispute the claims during the meeting\u2062 but fired Timpson less than two\u2063 months\u2064 later. \u2064Timpson was escorted out of the office by armed investigators.
