Speaker Robin Vos, a vocal opponent of \u2062Trump, was the target of this fundraising effort. \u2064Vos \u2062had refused \u200cTrump&#8217;s calls to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in\u2062 Wisconsin,\u2062 prompting\u200d supporters of the former president to launch \u2063a recall \u200ceffort\u200b against him in January.<\/p>\n<p>Under Wisconsin state\u200d law, individual donations for Assembly candidates cannot exceed $1,000, but political party arms can \u200bcontribute an unlimited \u2064amount.
