With its 123-mile radius, Mimas is Saturn\u2019s smallest and innermost moon, and due to its tiny size, it does not hold a round enough shape to look like a typical moon.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> But its most peculiar attribute is a gargantuan impact crater, which is the second largest of any moon in the universe. Given the name Herschel, after the moon\u2019s discoverer, the crater is 80 miles wide, as far as one-third across the face of the far side of the moon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> \u201cMimas was probably the most unlikely place to look for a global ocean \u2014 and liquid water more generally,\u201d Valery Lainey of the Paris Observatory said. \u201cSo that looks like a potentially habitable world.
