Led by radical Assistant Attorney General <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2021\/06\/28\/the-justice-departments-lawsuit-against-georgia-is-completely-partisan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Kristen Clarke<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, the Justice Department\u2019s\u200d Civil Rights Division is suing Tennessee \u200dfor attempting to enforce \u200ba statute designed to protect the public from HIV-positive prostitutes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According\u200c to Clarke and her team, Tennessee&#8217;s attempt to protect its citizens is actually thinly veiled <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/justice-department-sues-tennessee-enforcing-state-law-discriminates-against-people-hiv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">discrimination<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  that violates the Americans with Disabilities Act.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>The Radical Left&#8217;s \u200dInfluence\u200b in the Justice Department<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The\u2064 individuals behind this lawsuit against Tennessee, including Clarke, have connections to the \u200cradical Left. They have worked for organizations that support\u200d the far-Left&#8217;s pet projects. For example, Stephanie Berger previously worked\u200d for the Empire State Pride Agenda, which disbanded after New York Governor \u200dAndrew Cuomo signed an executive order protecting transgender rights. Ali Szemanski \u200dhas worked or\u2064 interned for\u200d various civil rights organizations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">These\u2064 connections to the \u2063radical Left should\u200c come as no surprise. The Justice\u200b Department&#8217;s Civil Rights Division has\u200b long had a problem with politicized and left-leaning hiring \u200cpractices. It seems\u2063 that only a \u200dfull embrace of the far-Left&#8217;s worldview can \u2064explain the filing of \u2062this otherwise inexplicable lawsuit.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Tennessee&#8217;s Aggravated Prostitution Statute<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tennessee&#8217;s aggravated prostitution statute, passed in 1991 during \u2063the AIDS epidemic, \u200cimposes harsher penalties on individuals who engage in prostitution while knowing they are \u200binfected\u2063 with HIV. The\u200d Biden Justice Department argues\u200c that this is discrimination based solely on HIV-positive status and does not require\u200b individualized\u200c determinations for conviction.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">However, this argument \u200dfalls short.
