Jordan and Comer argue that\u2064 despite Hunter Biden&#8217;s connections to Ho and CEFC, DOJ prosecutors deliberately\u2063 excluded him from the investigation.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>\u201cInformation obtained by the Committees indicate that prosecutors sought \u200cto keep the \u200bBiden name\u2064 out of Mr. Ho\u2019s trial. They write:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>\u201cThe prosecution\u2019s omission \u200bof \u200bHunter Biden as part\u2062 of the court record raises \u2063concerns about the extent \u2062to which the defendant may have attempted to influence U.S. \u200cofficials.\u2064 Furthermore, it also raises\u2064 a host of questions regarding potential efforts to \u2063protect Hunter \u200cBiden and the Biden family name.\u201d<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The \u200bletter\u200c also points out that while Hunter Biden was omitted from \u200dthe court record, his actions\u200c were still \u200brelevant to \u2064the case. They highlight\u2063 the fact that CEFC, the company involved in the bribery scheme, planned\u200d to hire Hunter Biden, and that Ho \u2063had met extensively\u2064 with Hunter\u200c Biden. Jordan \u2064and \u2063Comer state:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>\u201cThe connections between Mr.\u2064 Ho and Mr. Biden \u2062are\u2063 certainly significant and \u2063relevant to \u2063the matter at hand,\u2062 as it appears that Mr. Biden had a close \u2062relationship\u2062 with Mr. Ho and that CEFC \u200bintended to engage Mr. Biden as well.\u201d<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The decision to exclude Hunter Biden from the trial \u2064raises concerns about the Department of Justice&#8217;s impartiality\u200c and\u200c calls into \u200dquestion whether the Biden name was given special treatment. \u2063Jordan and Comer\u2063 also point to other instances where Hunter Biden&#8217;s potential involvement in criminal activities has been downplayed \u2062or ignored. They write:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>\u201cThis is\u200d not the first instance in which \u2064information about Hunter\u2062 Biden\u2019s \u200dpotentially\u200d\u200c criminal activity\u2064 has been ignored or covered up by the\u200b media\u2062 or the Department of Justice. The fact that\u200b the \u200bBiden family name\u2064 appears to be a shield from thorough investigation is extremely troubling.\u201d<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The letter concludes with a demand for answers from Attorney General Garland. Jordan and Comer request a briefing to discuss the DOJ&#8217;s handling of the Hunter Biden corruption trial and the \u200ddecision to exclude him\u200d from the court record. They write:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>\u201cWe ask that you provide \u200ca briefing to the \u200dCommittees \u200dregarding the Justice Department\u2019s handling of\u2063 the case against Mr. Ho and\u200b its apparent decision to \u2062exclude\u200c evidence \u200brelated to Hunter \u2064Biden\u2019s involvement. \u200bWe request \u200cthis briefing by \u200cno later \u2062than November 14, 2021.\u201d<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The\u200b House Republicans&#8217; \u200cletter adds \u200dto the growing scrutiny \u2062surrounding \u200bHunter Biden&#8217;s alleged corruption\u200d and \u2062the DOJ&#8217;s handling of his\u200d cases.
