(Photo by Stephanie Keith\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>OAN\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oann.com\/tag\/brooke-mallory\">Brooke Mallory<\/a><br \/>12:02 PM \u200c\u2013 Friday, \u200bFebruary 16, \u200d2024<\/h2>\n<p>Twelve women who claim that they were \u2062victims of\u200d Jeffrey Epstein have filed a lawsuit against the FBI, citing the agency\u2019s \u201crepeated and continued failures, delays, and\u2064 inaction\u201d \u200bas the \u2062reason\u2064 the scandalized financier was able to operate \u2064his sex-trafficking enterprise for\u200b more \u200bthan twenty years.<\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-3\" style=\"min-width: 320px; min-height: 50px; text-align: center;\">  \t<script>  \t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-3'); });  \t<\/script>  <\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-slot__ad-label\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>The lawsuit maintains that the \u200dFBI \u201cfail[ed] \u2064to do the job the American \u2063people expected \u2062of\u200c it and\u200b that the FBI\u2019s own rules and regulations required: investigate the reports, tips,\u200b and evidence \u200dit had of \u200drampant sexual abuse and sex\u2062 trafficking by Epstein and protect the young women and children \u2062who fell victim to \u2063him.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The alleged victims, identified in court records as unnamed \u201cJane \u200bDoes,\u201d are requesting an amount of money that has not been disclosed\u200c as\u2062 well\u2064 as the government\u2019s release of FBI records\u2064 pertaining to Epstein, who passed away in custody in 2019 while awaiting prosecution. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>The lawsuit is a \u201cfirst step to getting to \u2063the bottom of what we have recently learned\u2014that for years\u2063 the FBI negligently failed to act \u2063on clear evidence that \u200dJeffrey Epstein \u2063was operating a vast sex abuse operation and sex trafficking\u2064 ring, as alleged,\u201d according to a statement \u200dreleased by Jennifer Plotkin and Nathan Werksman, the Jane Does\u2019 attorneys.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Despite the Palm\u200d Beach police informing the agency in 2005 that they\u200c had \u200dreceived tips indicating that an underage girl had been brought to\u2063 Epstein\u2019s home for sexual misconduct, the complaint alleges that the \u200cFBI did not\u200c file a case until a whole year later.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThe FBI continued to receive direct\u200d reports, complaints, and tips concerning the illegal sex \u2063trafficking of women and underage minors, sex abuse, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/germany-prevails-at-supreme-court-in-dispute-over-jewish-art-extorted-by-nazis\/\" title=\"Germany Prevails at Supreme Court in Dispute Over Jewish Art Extorted by Nazis\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/saudi-court-jails-womens-rights-activist-posing-challenge-for-biden\/\" title=\"Saudi court jails women\u2019s rights activist, posing challenge for Biden\">human rights violations<\/a> committed<\/a> by Jeffrey \u200dEpstein and associates\u201d\u200c between 1996\u2063 and 2005, the\u200b lawsuit \u200bsays.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cPhotographs, videos,\u2064 interviews and hard evidence of\u2062 child prostitution\u201d were given to\u2063 the agency, seemingly being ignored, according to the suit.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The lawsuit further \u2064alleges that in 1996, a person\u200d reported to the agency that Epstein and his partner Ghislaine Maxwell had sexually abused her and other victims.\u200d However, the agency allegedly \u201chung up\u201d \u200don the complainant and \u201cfailed to act upon and investigate the complaints and\u2063 tips and failed to comply \u2062with protocol and guidelines, notwithstanding credible reports of solicitation of child prostitution and sex trafficking.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2064 continues by saying \u200dthat the \u2062FBI kept receiving reports\u2063 regarding child sexual assault even after Epstein entered a guilty plea to two state charges of\u2063 child\u2062 solicitation in 2006 and was mandated to register as a sex offender. However, the complaint claims that it concluded its investigation \u200bafter two years.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cFrom 2009 until 2019, the \u200dFBI was complicit in permitting the ongoing sex trafficking of minors, rape, and sexual abuse of girls and \u200cyoung women which\u2064 occurred between New York,\u200b Palm Beach\u200d and the \u2063US Virgin \u200cIslands, and many other locations,\u201d\u00a0 the lawsuit added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It is uncommon for the FBI \u200dto be sued \u2064for\u200d crimes that\u2062 it may have been \u200bable to prevent. According to the Tort Claims Act of 1964, anybody hurt or harmed by the carelessness of a\u200d government employee may submit a\u200c claim for compensation for their losses.<\/p>\n<p>A government \u200bagency has six months, \u2062under federal law, to answer an\u2064 allegation. The FBI declared on \u200cWednesday\u200c that it does not comment on legal matters. \u2064A request for comment from the U.S. \u2064Department\u2062 of Justice was not immediately answered.<\/p>\n<p>Stay informed!
