It&#8217;s as if they have a script to follow. And this time, MSNBC is leading the charge with their new special, &#8220;Black Men In America: The Road to 2024.&#8221; Now, before you even watch a second of it, you can already guess that it&#8217;s going to\u200c be filled\u200b with mindless race-baiting. And guess what? \u200cYou&#8217;d be absolutely right.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>But let me\u2062 show you a clip from the show that takes it to \u2062a whole new level. It features Ben Crump, a guy who&#8217;s like\u2063 a clone of Al\u200c Sharpton \u200dbut without\u200c the hair and brain cells. And let me tell you, this guy is a complete moron. Yet, somehow, he&#8217;s achieved success in a country \u2063that supposedly oppresses black people. \u200bIt&#8217;s a contradiction\u200b that exposes the flaws in the narrative of systemic racism.<\/p>\n<p>But here&#8217;s the\u200b kicker: Crump suggests that we can eliminate crime by simply changing the definition of crime. Yeah, you heard that right. According to him,\u2063 if we stop calling murder, robbery, and \u2064rape &#8220;crimes,&#8221; they magically cease to exist. \u2062It&#8217;s a ludicrous idea that ignores the reality of the situation. \u200dCrime\u200b doesn&#8217;t disappear just because we don&#8217;t label \u2064it as such. And yet, this is the kind of nonsense that passes for \u200dinsightful commentary on race.<\/p>\n<p>Crump also\u200d claims that laws &#8220;criminalize black culture.&#8221; He points to cases \u2064like Eric \u2064Garner, who died while \u200cresisting arrest for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-reportedly-eyeing-executive-orders-on-police-reform\/\" title=\"Biden Reportedly Eyeing Executive Orders On Police Reform\">selling loose cigarettes<\/a>. But let&#8217;s be clear: Garner&#8217;s death\u200d wasn&#8217;t caused by the law against \u200cselling loose cigarettes. \u200cIt was the result \u200dof \u2064his own actions and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sen-paul-faucis-emails-prove-he-knew-about-gain-of-function-research\/\" title=\"Sen. Paul: Fauci's Emails Prove He Knew About Gain of Function Research\">poor decision-making<\/a>. And \u2064that&#8217;s the\u2063 problem with Crump&#8217;s argument. He wants to blame the system for everything, but he \u200cconveniently ignores the fact that black men are arrested every day for committing \u2062actual violent crimes.<\/p>\n<p>So, let&#8217;s not buy into the narrative that it&#8217;s\u200b the white man keeping black communities down. It&#8217;s people like Ben Crump \u2064who profit off of perpetuating victimhood and division. And it&#8217;s time they&#8217;re held \u2064accountable for their destructive rhetoric.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> Why is it\u200b important for the media to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-documentary-about-northern-irelands-troubles-warns-against-political-violence\/\" title=\"New film on Northern Ireland's 'Troubles' cautions against political violence.\">provide historical context<\/a> when discussing racial issues, and how does ignoring the past hinder\u2063 progress towards racial \u200bequality<\/h2>\n<p><span>  E a checklist \u200cof topics they need to cover, and race is always on that list. And while it&#8217;s important\u2064 to have conversations about race and address \u200cthe issues surrounding it, the media&#8217;s approach often \u2064falls short \u2062of truly engaging \u2063and productive discourse.<\/p>\n<p>One of the \u2064main \u2064problems\u200d with\u2062 the way \u2062race is discussed in \u2064the media is\u200c the lack of\u2064 nuance and depth. The conversations tend to be oversimplified and polarized, focusing \u2063on extreme viewpoints and controversial incidents. This sensationalized approach not\u200b only perpetuates stereotypes and divisions \u200dbut also fails to address the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/meet-americas-10-most-dangerous-cities\/\" title=\"Introducing America's Top 10 Riskiest Cities\">underlying systemic issues<\/a>\u2063 that contribute to racial inequity.<\/p>\n<p>Another issue is the\u200d tendency\u2064 to tokenize individuals from marginalized communities as representatives\u2064 of their entire \u2062race. It&#8217;s \u2063common to see the media seeking out a handful of \u200cindividuals to speak on\u200d behalf of an entire\u2062 group, ignoring the diverse perspectives and experiences \u2062within that community. This\u200c not only oversimplifies \u2062the complexities \u200dof racial identity but also reinforces the \u2063notion that\u2064 people of color are a\u2062 monolithic group with\u200c homogenous opinions.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the media often fails to \u2063provide historical context when\u2064 discussing racial issues. It&#8217;s crucial to acknowledge and understand \u200dthe historical and social factors that\u2062 have\u2062 shaped\u2064 race relations in order \u200cto have meaningful conversations. Ignoring the past perpetuates\u200d ignorance and hinders progress towards racial\u2062 equality.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the media&#8217;s emphasis on sensationalism and conflict tends to overshadow \u200bstories of \u200dresilience, progress, and\u2063 unity. While it&#8217;s important to address \u2062the challenges \u2062and \u200binequalities faced by marginalized communities, it&#8217;s\u2063 equally important to highlight\u2063 the successes and \u200dpositive changes happening \u200cwithin those communities.\u2064 By showcasing these stories, the media can contribute to a more balanced and inclusive narrative surrounding race.<\/p>\n<p>To \u2062truly engage in a productive conversation about race, the media\u200c needs to prioritize\u2064 accurate representation, \u2064nuance, historical context, and a \u200dfocus on \u2062positive change. It&#8217;s time to move away from sensationalism and polarization and towards a more inclusive and \u200dnuanced approach that fosters understanding, empathy,\u200c and progress.
