Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) defended President Joe Biden as \u201cone of the most successful presidents in modern American history\u201d amid concerns over the president\u2019s mental acuity.<\/p>\n<p>    Ocasio-Cortez touted Biden\u2019s successes in his first term as president, including securing the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act and the American Rescue Plan.<\/p>\n<p>    \u201cI know who I\u2019m going to choose [for president]: It\u2019s going to be one of the most successful presidents in modern American history,\u201d Ocasio-Cortez told CNN on Tuesday. \u201c[He] passed the inflation reduction that got us the American Rescue Plan that ensured that we could pass one of the largest federal investments in climate change in U.S. history.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>    Critics of the president have questioned his mental competency after a special counsel report acknowledged Biden\u2019s memory was \u201csignificantly limited.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>    The report claimed prosecutors would have a hard time convincing a jury to convict the octogenarian president because he can portray himself \u201cas a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>    Ocasio-Cortez rejected the criticism of Biden\u2019s age as a legitimate concern, pointing out that former President Donald Trump, 77, the Republican front-runner for president, is close to Biden\u2019s age of 81.<\/p>\n<p>    \u201cI think right now, when it comes to the president\u2019s age, folks are talking about how he\u2019s 81,\u201d the congresswoman said. \u201cBut we have to look at, first of all, Donald Trump is around the same age. They could have gone to high school together.
