They are making the expansion of death\u200c a &#8220;hill to die on.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-2140781388\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-0402bb415452b99c9b1f8f57d9bfcf7f fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-0402bb415452b99c9b1f8f57d9bfcf7f\"><\/div>\n<p>House and Senate legislators have introduced the so-called &#8220;Medical\u200d Aid-in-Dying&#8221; bill. The bill goes much further than voters previously approved with the 2016 Proposition 106\u200b on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/assisted-suicide-group-teams-up-with-planned-parenthood-honcho\/\" title=\"Assisted Suicide Group Teams Up With Planned Parenthood Honcho\">physician-assisted suicide<\/a>. This bill would greatly expand Colorado&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/canadas-euthanasia-policy-shows-the-slippery-slope-is-real\/\" title=\"Canada's Euthanasia Policy Shows the Slippery Slope Is Real\">assisted suicide laws<\/a>, significantly\u2062 increase access, and reduce the waiting period for\u200c those\u2062 choosing death by medical\u200d professionals from 15 days to 48 hours, or even less under certain circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>Once adopted, a culture of\u200d death expands rapidly.\u2064 Assisted suicide now accounts\u200b for 4 percent of all\u200c deaths in Canada. The ill-advised program has already increased the number \u200dof physician-assisted suicides to more than 13,000 in 2022. MAID was initially\u200c scheduled\u2062 to expand to mental health cases this March, but the proposed delay to 2027 is merely to prepare\u200b their \u2063medical system for implementation, not because it&#8217;s an\u2063 inherently immoral plan.<\/p>\n<p>No wonder Canada long ago abandoned the Hippocratic oath despite pro-life advocacy to revive the pledge. Once\u200d a person \u200bis convinced life in the \u200dwomb is disposable, it&#8217;s not a long leap in moral logic that life outside the womb \u2063is likewise valueless, especially when it becomes difficult.<\/p>\n<p>A similar trajectory is occurring in Colorado. Having obtained a Democratic governing trifecta, the Colorado Legislature is \u2064busy pushing leftist ideas like SB24-068. The bill has several poison pills in it, including the removal of the requirement for patients to be state residents. The Colorado medical tourism \u2064industry of abortion\u200c and transgender surgery on \u200bminors will expand to support end-of-life participants. The devaluing of life across the Centennial State continues apace, even claiming moral superiority.<\/p>\n<p>As our good friends to the north\u2062 have \u2063already shown, this won&#8217;t be \u200bthe last expansion of\u200b the slippery slope that is immoral\u2064 killing. Although not required by many modern medical schools, the \u200bHippocratic oath influenced the medical profession to adopt the common mantra of &#8220;doing no harm or injustice&#8221; to patients. Interestingly, the original \u2062translation goes on to say the following:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>I will not give\u200c a lethal\u2064 drug to anyone if I am asked, nor will I advise such a plan; and similarly, I will \u200bnot give a woman a pessary to cause an abortion.<\/p>\n<p>In purity and according to \u200cdivine law will I carry out my life and my art.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Expansion of the so-called &#8220;right \u2063to die&#8221; in Colorado will not stop with SB24-068 and will fundamentally alter the nature of medical care and societal views concerning death. Colorado&#8217;s ever-expanding\u200c abortion protections and Democrat transgender &#8220;care&#8221; policies have already demonstrated that once unleashed, the medical profession has an almost limitless \u2062ability to bring\u2064 misery and death, whether patients want to be there or (like babies in the womb) have no voice in the matter.\u2064 Those who choose suicide to &#8220;reduce \u200cthe pain&#8221; are \u200dacting on a logical error called an appeal to ignorance. How does one know\u200b that death eliminates pain? Most world \u2063religions \u200caccept some form\u200c of existence \u2062beyond the grave; to assume they are all incorrect is risky.<\/p>\n<p>The immoral expansion of \u200bsuicide authorized by SB24-068 will follow the same path as Canada until even those in a mental health crisis, who most need the empathy\u200d of\u2062 medical professionals, may be encouraged instead to commit suicide. Eventually, suicide will be argued as\u2062 the moral high\u2062 ground, perhaps even \u2062a moral imperative. \u2063Abortion has followed a similar trajectory from &#8220;safe, legal, and rare&#8221; to &#8220;shout your abortion.&#8221;\u2063 There is little reason to think euthanasia will not follow a similar trajectory.<\/p>\n<p>Once normalized, euthanasia has\u200c the potential to be far less expensive than years of \u2062medical treatment or counseling. Which long-term outcome will insurance providers support? Although SB24-068 anticipates that concern and\u2063 restricts attempts to coerce those with a terminal illness to\u200d request suicide pharmaceuticals, how can this\u200b restriction be enforced, and will that injunction last as \u200dColorado slides down the slippery \u2064slide of progressive eugenics?<\/p>\n<p>There is a\u2062 better way, created by the Greeks well before the invention of modern medicines and passed to modernity in the Hippocratic Corpus. Within the words &#8220;I\u2063 will not give a lethal drug to anyone if I am asked&#8221; is an acknowledgment \u2064of the intrinsic value of\u2062 human life.\u200d This \u200bbelief is enshrined in the Judeo-Christian understanding that \u200dGod ordains life from conception until natural death. Accordingly, the U.S. Declaration of Independence posits \u2062that our Creator endows us with a &#8220;right to life,&#8221; not a right \u200dto death. America has long understood and protected the value of life, even and especially for \u2064those \u200bin the \u2063most difficult and painful circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>The wonders of modern medicine have produced massive improvements to the quality of \u2064life and medical care during all seasons\u2062 of life. Why would the Colorado Legislature reverse\u2063 that progress, negatively\u2063 influence \u2063the medical profession, and\u200b continue the\u2063 rush to cheapen life and encourage suicide? It seems the \u200bancient Greeks were\u200b on to \u200dsomething; maybe \u200cthe \u200bColorado\u200c Legislature should listen.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<\/div>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> What are\u2063 the potential consequences of \u2062reducing the waiting period \u200dfor assisted suicide to just 48 hours in certain cases?<\/h2>\n<p><span>  \u2062 Health crisis can request assisted suicide.
