According to Christie, Biden would\u2063 have\u200c rather <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/scandal-plagued-illinois-democrat-resigns-from-office\/\" title=\"Scandal-Plagued Illinois Democrat Resigns from Office\">faced criminal charges<\/a> than have the report declare him unfit to stand trial.<\/p>\n<p>During an\u200d appearance on NBC News&#8217; &#8220;Meet \u200cThe Press,&#8221;\u200c Christie \u2062discussed Hur&#8217;s report, which revealed\u200d that Biden\u2063 had knowingly retained classified material but couldn&#8217;t be charged due \u2064to his serious \u2062memory problems.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Former\u2063 Attorney \u2063General Eric\u200d Holder said\u2063 this about the report, &#8216;Way\u200b too many gratuitous remarks\u200d and it&#8217;s flatly inconsistent with longstanding DOJ traditions,'&#8221;\u2063 host\u200b Kristen Welker mentioned. &#8220;Did this \u200breport cross any lines for you?&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Christie responded confidently,\u200b &#8220;I don&#8217;t think so. And, look, I did\u200b this,\u2063 as \u2064you know, for seven years as the\u2064 U.S. attorney in the fifth-largest office\u2064 in the\u200b country. The fact is they had to\u200b give the reasons why they weren&#8217;t prosecuting when you\u2064 start off the report by saying\u200c that he &#8216;willfully and knowingly \u200dretained classified documents.&#8217; Well,\u2063 that&#8217;s a violation of the law.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Continuing\u2063 his explanation, Christie emphasized\u2063 the prosecutor&#8217;s dilemma, saying, &#8220;So\u200b the question, then, for the prosecutor \u200cis, &#8216;Then\u200d why\u2062 aren&#8217;t you \u200dbringing charges?&#8217; And he gave two reasons essentially. One was\u200c President Biden&#8217;s lack of memory \u200dand his condition, and secondly, was that President Biden\u200b cooperated. Once documents were discovered, he \u200dlet them go \u200din and do whatever they needed to do to get those documents, retrieve them, as opposed\u2062 to \u2064what President\u2064 Trump did.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>When asked about former\u200d President Donald \u200bTrump&#8217;s claim of a \u200ctwo-tiered \u200bjustice\u200b system, Christie disagreed, stating, &#8220;No, because \u2063in\u200d fact if there was a\u200b two-tiered system of justice, \u200cwhat would have happened would have been they just would have announced that they weren&#8217;t \u2062prosecuting\u200d him\u200c and they\u2063 wouldn&#8217;t have given any of \u200bthe reasons.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Christie then dropped a \u200bbombshell, revealing the potential impact of the report on the Biden White House. &#8220;I have \u200dto tell you the\u2064 truth: In one respect I think the Biden White\u2063 House would have\u2063 been happier \u2062if he had been charged\u2064 than for that report to\u2063 have come out in the midst of\u2062 a reelection campaign,&#8221; \u2064he said. \u200c&#8221;The\u2062 fact is: When you&#8217;re questioning what 70-some percent of the American\u200d people are already questioning \u2013 whether Joe Biden \u2063is too old for the job \u2013 and now you have an independent counsel, a special counsel, appointed by his own\u200b justice department, concluding\u2062 that he couldn&#8217;t bring a trial for that reason, that&#8217;s much more damaging, politically, than whether people would have agreed\u200c or disagreed \u200cwith him being charged.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Concluding his thoughts, Christie highlighted the concerns surrounding both candidates&#8217; \u200ccompetence and \u2064character, stating,\u2063 &#8220;And,\u2062 look, in the end, \u2062this\u200c is the problem.\u200d Both of these candidates are people who\u200b are being questioned for their\u2064 competence and being questioned for their character.
