Chris Christie denied he has considered leaving the Republican Party, despite his fierce opposition to former President Donald Trump and that wing of the GOP.<\/p>\n<p>    Christie said he \u201cwill never stop fighting to change\u201d the Republican Party and was firm in his belief that he is a Republican, while speaking on NBC News\u2019s Meet the Press on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>        \u201cI am ready to change the Republican Party. I will never stop fighting to change my party. I am a Republican, and that\u2019s what I\u2019m going to continue to be,\u201d Christie said. \u201cAnd I gotta work to change the party like I did before, and I wish that more people in our party would work to do the same thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>    When asked if he agreed with former Republican Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney \u2014 who said she would rather see Democrats win control of the House of Representatives in November over concerns regarding the certification of the presidential election \u2014 he expressed hope in several members of the House GOP but also cautioned against some in the Republican conference.<\/p>\n<p>    \u201cI would say this, if you listen to [Rep. Elise Stefanik\u2019s (R-NY)] quotes this week saying if she were vice president, she wouldn\u2019t have certified the election [in 2021], and she\u2019s a part of House leadership?
