About three-quarters of American voters, \u201cincluding half of\u2062 Democrats,\u201d said they have\u200b serious reservations about the 81-year-old\u200b commander-in-chief\u2019s \u2063mental and physical\u2064 health to command the Oval Office.<\/p>\n<p>The president did little to assuage voters\u2019 skepticism \u200bThursday night \u200bat a gaffe-filled press conference\u200c delivered in response to a damning election-year report \u200dthat concluded Biden was too old and feeble \u2063to face felony charges \u2062over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/judge-cannon-issues-ruling-against-trump-prosecutors-in-big-order\/\" title=\"Judge Cannon rules against Trump prosecutors in major case.\">mishandling classified \u2062documents<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, Special Counsel Robert\u2064 Hur <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/02\/08\/prosecutors-decline-to-charge-elderly-biden-over-poor-memory\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">published<\/a> the \u2064conclusions of a year-long investigation wherein \u2064federal\u200d prosecutors declined to \u2063press \u2062charges in part because \u200bthe\u200c president is an \u201celderly\u2062 man with a \u200bpoor memory.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt would be difficult to convince\u2062 a jury that they should convict him by \u2014 by then \u2062a\u200b former president well into his eighties \u2014 of\u2062 a\u200d serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness,\u201d Hur\u2019s team reported.\u200c For example, investigators said Biden \u201cdid not remember \u2062when he was vice president\u201d\u200c and forgot the timeline\u200d of his son\u2019s death, Beau, who died from\u200d brain cancer in 2015. The president has\u200d said that his\u2062 son died in \u200cthe Iraq War so frequently that \u2063daytime \u200dnews commentators have even\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/12\/13\/juan-williams-repeats-false-claim-that-biden-lost-his-son-in-iraq\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">repeated<\/a> the false claim. <\/p>\n<p>Hur\u2019s report also found Biden\u2019s \u201cmemory \u200bappeared\u200b hazy when describing the Afghanistan debate that was\u200d once so important to \u200bhim.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The president delivered a scathing condemnation of Hur\u2019s conclusions of the Democratic candidate\u2019s mental acumen at\u2063 Thursday\u2019s press conference\u2063 held hours after the \u200breport\u2019s release. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy memory\u2019s fine,\u201d Biden\u200c sought to reassure reporters.\u200b At the\u200c same prime-time\u200b event, Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/02\/08\/in-presser-insisting-hes-mentally-fit-biden-says-mexicos-president-is-calling-shots-in-gaza\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">confused <\/a>the \u2063\u201cpresident of Mexico\u201d with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi when responding to a question about the situation in Gaza.<\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">In\u200b a speech \u200bfocused on rebutting claims his memory is failing,\u2062 Biden \u200dsays he \u2064talked &#8220;the president of \u200bMexico&#8221; into opening gates \u200bin\u2063 Gaza for humanitarian\u200c supplies, referring to him as\u2064 &#8220;El-Sisi.&#8221; Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is the president of Egypt. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/QPm9YPXoZk\">pic.twitter.com\/QPm9YPXoZk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014\u2063 The\u200c Federalist (@FDRLST) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FDRLST\/status\/1755771814804885624?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February \u200c9, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span> <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Biden\u2019s stumbles\u200d led\u2063 New York Republican Rep. Claudia Tenney\u2064 to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/gop-rep-tenney-calls-invoke-25th-amendment-remove-biden-office-after-alarming-hur-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">call<\/a> \u200b on the administration\u2019s cabinet to determine whether the \u200cpresident was fit for office.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter concluding that President Biden \u200cknowingly and willfully removed,\u2062 mishandled, and disclosed classified documents \u2063repeatedly over a period of decades, \u200bMr. Hur \u2064nevertheless recommended that charges not be brought against him,\u201d Tenney wrote to Attorney\u2063 General Merrick Garland. \u200c\u201cSpecial Counsel\u2019s \u2064reasoning was alarming.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Here are 8 Democrats who\u2019ve \u2064defended the \u200cpresident\u2019s cognitive capability.<\/p>\n<h2>Eric \u2063Swalwell: Biden\u2019s Energy Puts Us \u2018To Shame\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>California Democrat Rep. Ro Khanna complained the White \u2064House was overprotective of the president.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think \u2062he\u2019s actually really good,\u201d Khanna <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/house-democrat-dismisses-concerns-biden-mental-fitness-white-house-overprotects\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> on Fox News. \u201cI think his staff overprotects him. I think, put him out there in a press conference. Who cares if\u2062 someone makes a gaffe? Every person makes a gaffe in conversations.
