One of the arguments made \u200cby John Heilemann and others was that the special counsel could have written the report without referring to Biden as an\u2064 \u201celderly man with\u200b poor \u2062memory.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>The Special\u200b Counsel&#8217;s Dilemma<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>But he couldn\u2019t have, right? Because\u2064 then Hur would have been compelled to recommend charges against the president. \u200dThere is no third choice. Biden can only skate, according to the\u200b special counsel, because he\u2019s too feeble-minded to be convicted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As if to \u2062punctuate Hur\u2019s conclusion, Biden inexplicably \u2062decided to have a \u200dpress\u2063 conference\u200b last night. It was easily the most disastrous of his presidency. The normally cocooned Biden\u200d angrily responded\u200b to journalists who were giving\u200b him a\u200b chance \u2063to dispel the findings of a DOJ report. Then, Biden referred to Egyptian President El-Sisi with a Mexican, which\u2064 wouldn\u2019t have been as big a deal (he does this\u2062 sort of thing all the time) if the presser hadn\u2019t been orchestrated to demonstrate his alleged mental acuity.<\/p>\n<p>It \u200bshouldn\u2019t\u200d be overlooked, either, that Biden was cognizant enough \u200bto blatantly lie, first about not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/donald-trump-arrested-doj-files-protective-order-to-prevent-sharing-of-classified-documents\/\" title=\"DOJ imposes order to safeguard classified documents in Donald Trump's arrest.\">sharing classified material<\/a> \u2063with a ghostwriter \u2063and then about not having \u201chighly classified\u201d \u200ddocuments in his possession. According to the Hur report, Biden showed classified documents to the writer of \u201cPromise \u200dMe, Dad\u201d \u2062and stored \u201ctop \u200dsecret\u201d documents regarding \u200bAfghanistan in boxes in his Delaware garage. You\u200d remember those leaked pictures of folders marked classified\u200c splayed across the floor at Mar-a-Lago?<\/p>\n<p>This is\u2064 the same.\u200c And, surely, the same people who \u2063<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lib-media-desperately-trying-to-spin-military-recruitment-crisis\/\" title=\"Lib Media Desperately Trying to Spin Military Recruitment Crisis\">spend inordinate amounts<\/a> of time cheering on the prosecutions of Donald Trump understand that no \u2063one is above the \u200blaw.<\/p>\n<p>Still, Biden\u2019s \u200bminions immediately began spinning conspiracy \u2064theories about \u200cthe DOJ\u2019s clandestine plans to hurt the \u2063president. Some White House defenders \u200dclaimed that the report mischaracterized the exchanges Biden\u200d had with investigators. Others \u200dclaimed that\u200c the interview\u2062 had taken place right after the Oct. 7th attacks in Israel, and consequently, the president, in this\u2062 time of\u200d stress,\u200d was unable to\u2064 concentrate or remember basic facts about his \u2062own life.<\/p>\n<p>Does the White\u200b House know it was making arguments \u200bfor enacting the 25th Amendment?<\/p>\n<p>Others contended that Biden had been \u201cexonerated,\u201d which \u200dis also highly \u200cmisleading. Hur notes that Biden committed\u2063 a \u201cserious felony,\u201d but based on the prosecutors\u2019 \u201cinteractions and conversations,\u201d it was clear that Biden would create reasonable doubt with \u2064a jury who might\u200d never believe he was capable of a\u2062 \u201cmental\u2064 state of willfulness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As many people have pointed out,\u2062 dementia is typically used\u200c as a consideration for leniency during\u2062 the sentencing phase, not an excuse to avoid prosecution. But if \u200cBiden\u2019s age\u2063 is his \u201csuperpower,\u201d as Bill McKibben argues, then the DOJ\u2064 has a responsibility to bring charges against the president after he leaves office.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u200c defenders also flooded social media and political shows to remind us that we\u2019ve all lost our keys or forgotten names and dates. Indeed, we have. Not many, though, would\u200c forget the \u200dyears they \u2062served as vice \u2062president of \u200dthe United States or the timeframe in which \u2064a child died, as Biden did.<\/p>\n<p>The media reports that Biden was \u201cprivately livid\u201d over the contention\u2062 he\u200d forgot when Beau\u200d died and \u201cangrily cursed\u200c about the language \u2062in the report\u201d last night.<\/p>\n<p>This makes\u2062 sense. Those in cognitive decline\u2064 \u2014 and sooner or later, it comes for us all \u2014 often get \u200cagitated \u2062and aggressive when confronted with \u200btheir memory loss. \u2062A lifelong fabulist, Biden has cynically lied \u2062about Beau\u2019s death so often that it\u2019s possible \u200che\u2019s now\u2062 convinced himself of an alternative history. People with dementia often time-shift experiences \u200dand conflate memories.<\/p>\n<p>What makes this especially difficult for Democrats is that Donald\u200b Trump is being prosecuted for the same exact crime. Double standards no longer\u2062 matter,\u200c but \u2063this is a bit on the \u2064nose.<\/p>\n<p>Lots of Democrats argue that \u200bit\u2019s different because Biden cooperated with authorities. First \u200boff, getting a lawyer and challenging charges leveled at you is well within the\u2063 rights of \u200cany\u2064 American. Second,\u2063 Biden didn\u2019t cooperate. A lawyer happened upon the classified\u2064 information.\u200d After that, Biden\u2064 was impelled to open\u2063 his home to investigators because otherwise, they would simply have gotten a \u200csearch warrant.<\/p>\n<p>And, as Hur notes, Biden\u200d had\u2064 documents from the \u200c1970s\u200c and knew he was in possession of\u200b them since \u200d2017,\u200c at least. There were 300 of these documents, not six as \u2062the White House initially claimed. All this points to a pattern of\u200b mishandling documents over many \u200byears, not \u2064a single filing mistake, as so many of his apologists had claimed when the story first broke.<\/p>\n<p>Which leaves us with two \u200dquestions: If Biden is too old\u200d to\u2064 be charged, isn\u2019t he too old to \u2062hold the\u2064 most powerful position in\u2063 the world? And if he\u2019s not \u200ctoo old to hold the most powerful position in the world, why is he too old to be charged?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"> <\/p>\n<h2> Why is it important for\u2062 the Department of Justice to thoroughly investigate \u2064any \u2063potential wrongdoing by Biden<\/h2>\n<p><span>  \u200dE key\u2063 details of their own <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/kasich-january-6-is-one-of-the-darkest-moments-in-our-history\/\" title=\"Kasich: 'January 6 Is One of the Darkest Moments in Our History'\">top-secret documents<\/a> or \u200dconfuse the leader of one country\u200b with another. The argument that Biden&#8217;s memory lapses\u200b are \u200djust a normal part of aging falls \u2062flat\u2062 when confronted with the evidence presented in \u200cthe special counsel report.<\/p>\n<h3>The Media Spin<\/h3>\n<p>Unsurprisingly, the mainstream media wasted no time \u2062in spinning\u2064 the report in favor of Biden. \u2063The usual suspects on cable news networks defended Biden&#8217;s actions,\u200b attempting to portray him as a sympathetic figure whose mental decline should\u2062 be \u2064shielded from \u200dscrutiny.<\/p>\n<p>But let&#8217;s not\u2062 forget that just a few\u200d years ago, these same media outlets were obsessively dissecting every word and action of\u200d Donald Trump, hoping to find any hint of wrongdoing. The double standard is glaring.<\/p>\n<h3>The Impact \u2064on National \u200dSecurity<\/h3>\n<p>One\u200d of\u200b the most concerning aspects of the report is the impact on national security. If Biden, as the president of the United States, is unable to\u200c properly handle classified information and consistently shows lapses in judgment, what does that say about our\u200b country&#8217;s security?<\/p>\n<p>The consequences of such negligence could be catastrophic. \u2064Our enemies\u200c are watching, and their \u2062ability to exploit any weaknesses in our leadership could lead\u200d to dire consequences.<\/p>\n<h3>The Need\u200b for Accountability<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hur-report-portrays-biden-as-elderly-man-with-poor-memory\/\" title=\"Report depicts Biden as 'aging individual' with 'impaired recollection\">special counsel report raises<\/a>\u2062 serious \u200cquestions about Biden&#8217;s fitness\u200c for office.
