The\u200c ban, \u200cwhich is no longer in effect, has been deemed unconstitutional.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the settlement, the city will be required to \u200dpay \u2063$500,000 to both the ACLU and\u200c the Tennessee Equality Project. Additionally, the \u200dcity must now accept permit applications for future drag performances.<\/p>\n<p>The ban was \u2062implemented following a Pride event in \u200b2022, which the \u200ccity claimed involved children in a \u2063sexual manner. However, the Tennessee Equality Project defended\u200c the \u200bperformers, stating that they were fully dressed.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>ACLU\u2062 Alleges Unconstitutional Prohibition<\/h3>\n<p>The ACLU accused Murfreesboro Mayor Shane McFarland \u200band City Manager \u2062Craig Tindall of unconstitutionally prohibiting permit requests \u200dfrom the Tennessee Equality Project.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;This settlement sends a clear message that the \u200bcity&#8217;s discrimination \u2063against the LGBTQ+ community was blatantly\u2064 unconstitutional and will\u200d not be tolerated,&#8221; \u200dstated the ACLU\u200d of Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p>In\u2064 October, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/one-of-two-wisconsin-supreme-court-rulings-give-president-trump-the-win-should-be-enough-votes-to-win-the-state\/\" title=\"One of Two Wisconsin Supreme Court Rulings Give President Trump the Win \u2013 Should Be Enough Votes to Win the State\">federal judge dismissed<\/a> the \u2062ordinance against\u200c drag\u2063 performances, rendering it unenforceable.
