Ambassador Nikki Haley explained away a disappointing\u200c finish in the Nevada primary \u2062on Tuesday, noting that she had not spent an \u201counce of energy\u201d \u200din the state.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>However,\u2063 Republican supporters of Donald Trump argue that Haley never \u200cstood\u200d a chance, as the former president is\u200b expected \u200cto secure \u200dNevada&#8217;s delegates in the GOP caucuses on Thursday night.<\/p>\n<p>Trump is \u200bpredicted to \u2064dominate \u200dthe contest, \u200bwith only one other relatively unknown candidate, Ryan Binkley, \u200das an alternative\u200b option for voters. Haley&#8217;s absence \u200dfrom the ballot is due to her \u200bcampaign&#8217;s claim that the election was &#8220;rigged&#8221; in favor of Trump.<\/p>\n<p>The state&#8217;s \u206326 Republican delegates \u2063are allocated solely through the\u200d caucuses and not the \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nevada-oks-bill-in-try-for-1st-presidential-nominating-state\/\" title=\"Nevada OKs Bill in Try for 1st Presidential Nominating State\">state-run primary<\/a> that\u200d took \u200cplace on \u2064Tuesday.<\/p>\n<h3>Trump Country<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;I travel Nevada pretty regularly, and this is Trump\u2062 country here,&#8221; said Nevada Lt. \u2064Gov. He added that he \u200dhadn&#8217;t encountered any \u2064Republicans upset by Haley&#8217;s decision to ignore \u200bthe state,\u2062 stating, &#8220;The people \u2063that I talked to are all supporting Trump, and they&#8217;ve been supporting him for a while.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Jenann Logan, second vice president \u200cof the Republican Women of \u2064Las Vegas, also hadn&#8217;t heard any \u200cconcerns about Haley&#8217;s absence. Logan\u2062 confirmed\u200b that she has &#8220;always&#8221;\u2064 been a Trump supporter.<\/p>\n<p>Haley&#8217;s strategic choice to participate in the primary rather than the \u2064caucuses backfired, resulting \u200bin her loss in the contest on Tuesday. She explained that her vote was to ensure Haley didn&#8217;t have &#8220;bragging rights for winning the primary.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of\u2062 the contest, \u2062Haley&#8217;s campaign manager,\u2062 Betsy Ankney, made it clear that they hadn&#8217;t invested any resources in\u200d Nevada. Ankney stated,\u2062 &#8220;We have not spent \u2063a dime nor an ounce of energy on Nevada.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We aren&#8217;t going\u200d to \u200cpay $55,000 to a Trump entity\u200b to \u200cparticipate in \u2064a process that is rigged for Trump. Nevada is not and\u2064 has never been \u200cour focus. I&#8217;m truly not sure what the Trump team is\u2064 up \u200dto\u2062 out there, but they seem\u200c pretty\u2062 spun up about it,&#8221; \u200cshe added.<\/p>\n<p>The Nevada GOP caucuses are run by the state\u2062 party, led by chairman Michael McDonald. McDonald was one of \u2062the six Republican electors indicted last year for their\u200d attempts to overturn Nevada&#8217;s 2020 election results and certify the state \u2062for Trump.<\/p>\n<p>As Ankney mentioned,\u2064 Haley did \u200cnot spend \u200bany time in Nevada leading up to the primaries or the \u200bcaucuses.<\/p>\n<p>This partially influenced Republican nurse Amy Wood&#8217;s decision to vote in the primary. Wood wanted &#8220;to make a statement that Nevada is\u200d important.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;People that live here in the state need\u200d to be aware of who they&#8217;re voting for for president. If we&#8217;re not a \u2063concern, why would you vote\u2062 for her?&#8221; she \u200dquestioned Haley&#8217;s absence.<\/p>\n<p>However,\u2063 not everyone was against the former ambassador. Nevada Republican Club member\u200b Maura Bivens voted \u2063in Haley&#8217;s favor, explaining, &#8220;I wanted to\u2063 vote\u200d against Trump.
