Swapping one\u2064 leftist for another \u200bis a fantasy, solves nothing, excuses Biden\u2019s culpability, and unconstitutionally expands impeachment that someday will\u2063 bite Republicans,&#8221; McClintock said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Two articles of impeachment allege Mayorkas has &#8220;willfully and systemically refused to comply with \u2063Federal immigration \u200blaws&#8221; and &#8220;breached the public \u2062trust&#8221; by\u200b making false statements, \u200c&#8221;knowingly&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-panel-releases-2-articles-of-impeachment-against-mayorkas\/\" title=\"House panel issues 2 impeachment articles against Mayorkas\">obstructing lawful oversight<\/a> of the Department\u200b of Homeland \u2063Security, and making false\u200d statements to Congress.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats have panned the \u2062impeachment\u2063 proceedings as a &#8220;political stunt,&#8221; \u2063while the \u200bWhite House went as far as to claim the endeavor \u200dis &#8220;unconstitutional.&#8221; Mayorkas \u200cpushed back against what he\u2062 called\u200b &#8220;false accusations&#8221; levied\u2063 against him. \u2064Should \u200cimpeachment succeed in the \u2062House, it faces long \u2064odds in\u2063 the Democrat-led Senate.<\/p>\n<p>Still, \u200dHouse Republicans are expected to \u2062move forward with impeachment this week. They \u2064carry a slim margin by which they could approve the articles, assuming every \u200dvoting Democrat opposes them as they did \u200cat the committee level. The party breakdown is 219 Republicans and \u200d212 Democrats, with four vacancies.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. \u200bKen Buck (R-CO), who is not seeking re-election this \u200dyear, has already come out against the impeachment effort.
