Ambassador \u2062Nikki Haley is determined\u2063 to secure her \u200cfirst \u200cvictory in the primary \u200ccycle \u2064by winning over the U.S. Virgin Islands. After conceding\u2062 the Nevada\u200b caucuses to\u2062 former President Donald Trump and opting out of competing in\u2062 the state, Haley\u2064 is now focusing on the U.S. Virgin Islands,\u2064 which will \u2063hold its caucuses on Feb. 8.<\/p>\n<p>Haley recently campaigned virtually in the U.S.\u200b Virgin Islands, engaging with Republican Party officials for the second time\u2064 in\u200d recent\u2062 weeks. She\u200c hopes\u2064 to secure the territory&#8217;s four delegates. A group of Republicans gathered at\u2062 the \u2064Buccaneer hotel on \u200dSt. Croix for a virtual reception, while others from St. John and St. Thomas\u2064 joined via Zoom.<\/p>\n<h3>Building Momentum<\/h3>\n<p>Despite \u2064setbacks in Iowa and New Hampshire, Haley remains optimistic about her\u200b campaign&#8217;s progress. She emphasized that \u200bshe is the only GOP candidate still\u200c challenging the front-runner, former President\u200b Trump.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have now gotten a dozen out of the \u200crace. There\u2019s just one more fellow we\u2019re trying to catch \u2064up to.\u2063 And when you think about what\u200b happened, we started at 2%. In Iowa, we ended\u200c up at 20%,&#8221;\u2063 Haley shared with voters in the U.S. territory. &#8220;Then, \u200din New \u2063Hampshire, we wanted\u2062 to\u2063 grow\u2062 more, we got 43%.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Haley&#8217;s campaign is primarily focused on the Palmetto State and has \u200dits <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-administration-policy-will-threaten-fundamental-rights-for-women\/\" title=\"Biden Administration Policy Will Threaten Fundamental Rights For Women\">sights set<\/a> on \u2064Super Tuesday contests.\u2063 The campaign has made it clear that it is not putting any energy into\u2064 this week&#8217;s primary and caucuses in Nevada. Haley is determined to continue her campaign after South Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;After\u200d South\u200c Carolina, we\u2019re going to Michigan.\u200b We\u2019re going on to \u200bSuper\u200c Tuesday. And we continue to add, and that\u2019s \u200dthe goal to continue to build\u2064 on that momentum,&#8221; Haley declared. &#8220;I hope that we can build on that momentum \u200chere in \u2064the Virgin Islands \u200dtoo because I think it\u2019s so important.\u2063 And so we want to make sure that we do \u2064that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Equality and Voting Rights<\/h3>\n<p>During the event,\u2062 Haley was asked about her stance \u2062on allowing\u2063 the \u2064U.S. Virgin Islands and other territories to participate in the general election. While she expressed support for equality, she did not \u2063provide a definitive answer.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I want those\u2062 in territories to have \u200bequality just like every other American. I think when it \u2064comes to statehood or\u2064 comes to\u2062 voting, we have to look at that. I\u2019d be willing to sit down and \u200btalk about \u2062that,&#8221; Haley responded cautiously. &#8220;I don\u2019t know if I\u2019m willing to \u2063say, \u200c\u2018Yes,\u2063 we need to do that\u2019\u200b because we need to look at\u200b all of \u200bthe other territories\u200b involved\u200d and\u200b what that means.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Haley acknowledged the significance of the caucus in the U.S. Virgin Islands and expressed openness to discussing the possibility of allowing territories to participate \u200cin the general election.
