And surprise, surprise &#8211; she&#8217;s just as biased as \u2063former \u200chost Chuck Todd.<\/p>\n<p>First, let&#8217;s talk about her\u2062 treatment of House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) regarding the border bill released \u2064by the Senate. \u200dWelker wasted no time in \u2064lecturing him, saying, &#8220;You are now \u2063the \u200cspeaker of the \u200bHouse. Do\u200d you not have a\u200b responsibility to your voters, to the \u2062people who put you in office, to\u2063 address what you have called a crisis and \u2063catastrophe? Isn&#8217;t something better\u200b than nothing?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But that&#8217;s not all. \u2063Welker also passed along the Democratic talking point that after three years of open \u200bborder policies, &#8220;Joe\u200c Biden\u200c said he\u200c would shut down the border.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>From Sunday\u2019s Meet the Press on NBC:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>KRISTEN WELKER:<\/strong> You have been calling \u2064for legislative change to actually deal with this \u200dproblem. \u200cYou are\u200c now the speaker of the House. Do you not have a\u200d responsibility to your voters, to the people who put you in office, to address what you have called a crisis and catastrophe? Isn\u2019t\u2063 something better than \u2063nothing?<\/p>\n<p><strong>SPEAKER MIKE JOHNSON:<\/strong> Kristen,\u200d we did that. We did that nine months ago. And \u200csince \u200dwe passed \u200cour measure\u200c in the House\u2063 to solve\u2063 this\u200c problem, and the reason we\u2064 had to do it is because we saw that President \u200dBiden was not \u200cfulfilling his \u200dobligation under the law. That\u2019s why it is\u200d such a failure of leadership, but we did our part. And by the way, since then, in the \u200dnine\u2062 months since that bill sat on [Senate Majority Leader] Chuck Schumer\u2019s desk, collecting dust, \u20621.8 \u200bmillion illegals have been allowed \u200cinto\u200d this country, welcomed into the country, sent \u2063around the nation into every community \u2014 communities near everyone listening \u2063and watching this morning. And that is\u200c a catastrophe, and the American people know\u200b it, and that\u2019s part of the reason that Joe Biden has the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/border-patrol-chief-resists-biden-i-cannot-comply-with-demand-to-use-non-legal-immigration-terms\/\" title=\"Border Patrol Chief Resists Biden: \u2018I Cannot\u2019 Comply With Demand To Use Non-Legal Immigration Terms\">lowest approval rating<\/a> of any president facing reelection.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WELKER:<\/strong> Even \u2062former President Trump, though,\u200b called for legislative change on \u200bthis issue. You have one of the slimmest majorities in the House \u2064in history. Don\u2019t you\u2064 have to compromise\u2064 to get something done? What you passed in the House can\u2019t pass in the Senate, \u200dMr. Speaker. You know that.<\/p>\n<p><strong>JOHNSON:<\/strong> We are \u2063willing to work. \u200dWe are willing to work with the Senate. I am not disclosing that, and I\u2019ve been very consistent for the hundred days that I\u2019ve had the gavel. We are willing to work, but they have\u2063 to be \u2062serious\u2064 about \u2063it. If you only do a few\u2064 of those components, you are \u200cnot going to solve\u200d the problem, \u200dand \u2064Kristen, that is not a \u200bRepublican talking point. That\u2019s what the sheriffs at\u200b the border, the Border Patrol agents, the\u2064 deputy chief \u200cof U.S. Border \u200dPatrol, a\u2064 33-year\u200b veteran \u2062of\u200c the agency,\u2063 told us. He \u2062said that it\u2019s as though we\u2019re administering an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/broadways-big-return\/\" title=\"Broadway\u2019s Big Return\">open fire hydrant<\/a>. He said, \u201cI don\u2019t need more buckets,\u201d like\u200c the president has proposed. I need to stop the flow, and we know\u2063 how to do that, but Joe \u2062Biden is unwilling to do it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WELKER:<\/strong> Let me ask you about your decision, and \u200bby the way, Joe Biden said he would shut down the border.
