Here\u2019s Why.\">protect free speech<\/a>.&#8221; \u200bIt&#8217;s \u2062part of a larger campaign to vilify the Jewish state and\u200b keep IDF\u2062 soldiers\u200d off the law school&#8217;s campus, where some students responded to the Oct. 7 attacks by <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/campus\/law-students-for-hamas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">defending \u200bHamas<\/a> and mocking \u200bJewish students who condemned the violence.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/?attachment_id=1856982\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1856982\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In anticipation \u200cof Monday&#8217;s event, which was organized \u2063by Law Students for Israel, activists plastered the law school with\u200b signs saying &#8220;NO IDF ON CAMPUS.&#8221; A few signs contain additional slogans,\u2063 from &#8220;ANTIZIONISM \u2260 ANTISEMITISM&#8221; to \u200d&#8221;WAR\u200c CRIMINALS\u2062 AREN&#8217;T WELCOME,&#8221; that\u200d reflect the rhetoric of the national Students for Justice in Palestine organization, \u2064which has \u2063been behind\u2062 some of the most disruptive\u2064 protests on university \u200dcampuses since the Israel-Hamas war began.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/?attachment_id=1856955\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1856955\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Rutgers suspended its chapter \u2064of Students for Justice in Palestine after the group <a href=\"https:\/\/6abc.com\/rutgers-university-students-for-justice-in-palestine-protest-investigation\/14187716\/#:~:text=Rutgers%20suspends%20Palestinian%20group%20accused%20of%20disruptions,%20vandalism%20on%20campus&#038;text=NEW%20BRUNSWICK,%20New%20Jersey%20(WPVI,the%20New%20Brunswick%20campus%20Thursday.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">allegedly vandalized<\/a> school property. Columbia did the same after its chapter held an unauthorized protest that involved &#8220;threatening\u200d rhetoric and intimidation,&#8221; \u200dper a <a href=\"https:\/\/news.columbia.edu\/news\/statement-gerald-rosberg-chair-special-committee-campus-safety\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a> \u200d from university officials.<\/p>\n<p>Several \u200dbranches, including the national organization, have also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronicle.com\/article\/pro-palestinian-student-groups-use-of-this-image-is-drawing-outrage-heres-where-it-came-from\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">glorified the\u200c paraglider<\/a>\u2014used by Hamas to invade Israel by air and massacre partygoers \u2063at the Re&#8217;im music festival\u2014as a symbol of Palestinian &#8220;resistance.&#8221; Others <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adl.org\/resources\/backgrounder\/students-justice-palestine-sjp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">say they<\/a> reject the distinction between\u200c &#8220;civilian&#8221; and &#8220;militant&#8221; and support resistance &#8220;by any means necessary.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The chapter at Yale Law School appears to deny that Hamas\u200c is a terror group. Characterizing the\u200c war in\u200d Gaza as a fight against &#8220;terrorist organizations,&#8221; it wrote on Instagram, &#8220;is not only factually incorrect but relies on dangerous Islamophobic and racist tropes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Though Yale\u2063 Law \u200dStudents for \u2062Justice\u200b in \u2064Palestine does not publicly disclose the\u2062 names of its members, Rosalyn Leban, a third<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/law-school-student-letter-details-culture-of-bullying-at-university-of-north-carolina\/\" title=\"Law School Student Letter Details \u2018Culture Of Bullying\u2019 At University Of North Carolina\">-year law student<\/a>,\u2063 has sent emails to an all-student listserv advertising the group&#8217;s programming\u2014including a lunch event about the &#8220;Israeli\u2064 army&#8217;s genocide in Gaza.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Please wear\u200b your mask when you are not eating,&#8221; the event description read.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/?attachment_id=1856985\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1856985\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Leban, who did not respond to a request for comment, is &#8220;interested in exploring the impacts of capitalism and environmental racism on immigrant communities, indigenous communities, and communities of color,&#8221; according to her <a href=\"https:\/\/law.yale.edu\/animals\/people\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bio<\/a> on the law school&#8217;s\u2063 website. She has <a href=\"https:\/\/slate.com\/news-and-politics\/2023\/05\/bidens-asylum-app-cbp-one-broken.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">written<\/a> about the \u200c&#8221;impenetrable digital border&#8221;\u200d facing migrants to the United States and, according\u2064 to her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/rosalynleban\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LinkedIn<\/a>, directs the &#8220;Mental Health Justice Clinic&#8221; at Yale Law School.<\/p>\n<p>Yale Law Students for Justice in \u200cPalestine did not respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>The controversy comes \u200bafter the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the \u200bUnited Nations&#8217; top legal body, ruled\u2062 that Israel&#8217;s actions in Gaza could amount \u200bto genocide and allowed South Africa, which sued Israel in December, to proceed with its\u200c case against the Jewish state. Yale Law Students for Justice \u2063in Palestine cited that verdict to\u2063 argue that IDF troops should be barred from campus.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We\u2062 consider the law school\u2063 allowing an\u2064 event with\u2063 an\u200c IDF combatant, particularly in the \u200daftermath of the ICJ\u2063 ruling, and with no \u200coversight \u200cof the \u200ccontents\u2064 of his speech, to \u200cbe an\u2062 inconsistent\u2062 application of\u2062 the\u2063 law school&#8217;s norms of \u200cfree expression with <i>actually <\/i>dangerous implications for campus safety,&#8221;\u2063 the group wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Law Students for Justice \u2063in Palestine also accused\u2063 Yale Law School\u200b of having a &#8220;pro-Israel ideological\u2062 bias.&#8221; Last year, the law school&#8217;s Schell Center \u2064for Human Rights resisted hosting \u200can event on the Oct. 7 massacre, \u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/campus\/law-students-for-hamas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">telling<\/a> \u200da Jewish student that the situation was\u200d &#8220;complex.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p> <\/p>\n<h2> How\u200c have pro-Palestinian\u200c groups, such as\u2064 Students for Justice in Palestine, created a hostile \u2062environment for Jewish students\u200c on college campuses?<\/h2>\n<p><span>  Id not respond to multiple requests for comment,\u200b is\u200d a member of \u200cthe \u2064National and International\u2063 Social \u200cJustice\u2064 project at Yale, \u200cwhich also has a chapter at the University of Pennsylvania. The project\u2064 includes chapters at law schools around\u200d the \u200dcountry, including Harvard, Columbia, \u200cand NYU.<\/p>\n<p>This incident is\u2063 not an isolated one. It is\u2062 part of a disturbing trend on college campuses\u2063 where \u2063pro-Palestinian groups, such as Students for Justice in Palestine, are creating an environment that is hostile\u2062 to Jewish students and\u2064 supportive of terrorist organizations like Hamas. \u2064These groups \u2063use tactics \u2063of \u2064intimidation, disruption, and propaganda to further their cause, often at the expense\u200b of\u2063 the\u200b safety and well-being of other students.<\/p>\n<p>By calling for the cancellation of the event with an IDF combatant, the Yale Law School chapter of \u200cStudents for Justice in Palestine is once again attempting to silence voices that do not align with their own agenda. They claim\u2064 that the\u2064 presence of this soldier on campus will make students feel unsafe and unwelcome. However, what \u2063they fail to acknowledge is that their own actions and rhetoric are\u2063 what truly make students feel unsafe and unwelcome.<\/p>\n<p>Members of Students for Justice in Palestine openly celebrated the murder of Israelis and praised the attackers as &#8220;martyrs.&#8221; They have called for the protection\u200d of free speech while simultaneously attempting to suppress the voices of those who \u200cdisagree \u200bwith them. They\u2063 have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/university-of-iowa-college-republicans-temporarily-suspended-for-chalking-outside-without-face-masks\/\" title=\"University of Iowa College Republicans Temporarily Suspended For Chalking Outside Without Face Masks\">vandalized school property<\/a> \u200dand engaged in threatening\u200d rhetoric and intimidation. And they have glorified acts of\u2063 violence and terrorism as acts of resistance.<\/p>\n<p>It is clear that the Yale Law School chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine is not interested in promoting justice or peaceful dialogue. Their actions and rhetoric only serve to perpetuate a cycle of violence and hatred. It is time\u2062 for the university to take a stand and enforce policies that ensure the\u2064 safety and well-being of all students, regardless of their religious\u2063 or political\u200c beliefs.<\/p>\n<p>We must reject the \u200dfalse narrative that is being\u200d spread by groups\u2064 like Students for Justice in Palestine. We must recognize that supporting the\u2063 Israeli\u2063 Defense Forces does not make someone a war criminal, just as supporting the Palestinian cause does not \u2064make someone a terrorist. We must foster an environment of respect, understanding, and\u200d open dialogue, where all perspectives can be heard \u200dand respected.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, we must hold these pro-Palestinian \u2062groups accountable for their actions. Vandalizing school property, engaging in threatening rhetoric, and \u200ddisrupting campus events are not acceptable forms of protest. These \u200dactions only serve to create a hostile and unsafe environment for all students.<\/p>\n<p>The university \u2064administration must take swift and decisive action to address\u2062 this \u2063issue. They must condemn the actions and rhetoric of Students for Justice in Palestine and \u200censure that \u2063all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/this-washington-high-school-is-instructing-teachers-to-avoid-saying-biologically-male\/\" title=\"This Washington High School Is Instructing Teachers To Avoid Saying \u2018Biologically Male\u2019\">students feel safe<\/a>\u2063 and welcome on campus. They must enforce policies that protect free speech while also preventing the spread of hate and intolerance.<\/p>\n<p>In\u2063 conclusion, the demand to cancel the \u200cevent with\u2064 an IDF\u2063 combatant at Yale Law School is just\u2063 the latest \u200bexample of the dangerous and hostile environment that pro-Palestinian groups\u2062 are creating on college campuses. It\u200c is time for us to stand up\u2062 against \u2064this rhetoric and ensure that all \u200d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/natan-sharansky-blames-harvard-and-yale-for-decline-of-the-free-world\/\" title=\"Natan Sharansky Blames Harvard and Yale for Decline of the Free World\">students feel\u200c safe<\/a> and welcome.
