However, the tide seems to be turning as House leadership plans to bring the matter to a vote in the coming days.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Impeachment Resolution Advances<\/h3>\n<p>The House Homeland Security Committee advanced an impeachment resolution Tuesday during a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/north-carolina-governor-loses-abortion-veto-override-battle-as-gop-supermajorities-hold\/\" title=\"NC governor loses abortion veto override as GOP keeps supermajorities.\">late-night vote<\/a>. Both had previously voted to defer Mayorkas&#8217;s impeachment late \u2064last year.<\/p>\n<p>In November 2023, Republicans voted on whether \u2064to charge Mayorkas \u2063after Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) forced a vote on\u200c her impeachment resolution.\u200d However, the motion failed as eight Republicans sided with Democrats to refer \u2063the matter to\u200c the Homeland \u200dSecurity Committee,\u200d delaying any action.<\/p>\n<p>However, at least one of those eight Republicans has changed their \u200dvote to support the impeachment. Rep. Anthony D&#8217;Esposito (R-NY), Marc Molinaro (R-NY), and Mike Lawler (R-NY).<\/p>\n<p>Lawler expressed his support for impeachment, stating,\u2064 &#8220;[Mayorkas] created a catastrophe at the border. He has lied to Congress on\u200b numerous occasions and failed to enforce\u200c and uphold the law \u2063and the Constitution.
