Most infamous is a UNESCO resolution denying<\/a> Jews any historical connection to their faith\u2019s holiest \u200bsites at the Temple Mount and Western Wall\u200d \u2014 a contention that should come as a\u2064 surprise to anyone who\u2019s read a book.\u2062 The motion was supported by 24 nations, including Security Council members Russia and \u200dChina. Only six countries opposed \u2062it.<\/p>\n
Then there is the United Nations Human Rights Council, whose mission is \u200bpurportedly \u2062to\u2062 protect \u201c human rights<\/a> around the \u200bworld.\u201d Donald Trump pulled funding and refused \u200bto allow the\u200b U.S. \u2062to participate\u2062 in these Third World, Jew-hating bull sessions<\/a>. When Joe Biden became president, he \u200c rejoined<\/a> the\u200d council. He did so on the same day as Eritrea, which usually ranks below North Korea in those freedom \u201cindexes,\u201d just to give you an idea of the quality of the membership. <\/p>\n
This year the sickening farce\u2063 is led by Morocco. Members include\u2062 Cuba and China. <\/p>\n
Still, as reprehensible as all this\u200d history is, no\u200c one in any of those agencies, as \u2063far as we\u2063 know, has actively participated\u2063 in \u2062the killing of \u2063Jews. One can no longer say \u2062the \u2063same\u200b for the UN Relief and Works \u200cAgency for\u200b Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), another agency Biden rejoined<\/a> when becoming president.<\/p>\n

We now \u2063know\u200d that at least 12 of UNRWA\u2019s employees took part<\/a> in the\u2062 Hamas massacre of Jews \u2064on Oct. 7, not merely offering logistical help or coordination, but sometimes participating in the actual \u200dkidnapping and murdering of civilians. As \u200bof this\u2062 writing, the UN \u200dfired \u200bnine of\u200b its employees\u200b \u2014 which seems like a small price to pay for\u200b murder. The U.S., Britain, Germany, and Australia, among others, have \u2063temporarily paused funding to UNRWA, \u2062which has been a major tool \u200cfor funneling international money to Hamas.<\/p>\n
Radical leftists, \u2064naturally, were aghast. Not at the\u2064 UN\u2019s role in the massacre, but at the funding freeze. \u201cAmong an organization of 13,000 UN aid workers, risking the starvation of millions \u2063over grave allegations\u200d of 12 is indefensible,\u201d\u200c Alexandria\u200c Ocasio-Cortez explained<\/a>.<\/p>\n
Oh, \u200c only<\/em> 12 people employed by the United Nations \u2064participated in the murder, rape, \u200cand kidnapping of Jewish women and children, you say?\u200c Seems like a lot to me, actually. <\/p>\n
Indeed, Israel provided the U.S. with proof\u200b that around 1,200 \u2014 or \u2064about 10 percent of \u2064UN employees in Gaza \u2014 have direct links to Hamas or Islamic Jihad. Nearly half of UNRWA\u2019s \u200demployees are close relatives\u2064 of members of \u2064various terrorist groups. When UN Watch \u2063 translated<\/a> 249,000\u200c user posts in the UNRWA chat group right after the terror attack,\u200d thousands of \u200cthem praised Hamas (\u201cMay Allah keep their feet steady and guide their\u2062 aim.\u201d) Most \u200bof\u2064 those excited by the\u2064 news\u2062 were\u200d likely\u2064 teachers. And that is vital to remember.<\/p>\n

Whatever the\u200d number, however, please spare\u2063 us\u200d the argument that the agency bears no responsibility for the actions \u2064of its employees. Israel has\u200b long warned that the UN was aiding \u200cand abetting Hamas. UNRWA knew what was going on. We have\u200c known for decades that the agency employs<\/a> members of \u2063Islamic terror organizations<\/a>. And that\u2019s just the start.<\/p>\n
Created as a temporary agency after the Israelis won their independence in 1949, UNRWA was \u200dtasked with providing social services<\/a> and education for those \u201crefugee \u2062camps\u201d in Arab nations. The number of refugees that supposedly fled from\u2062 Israel\u200c after\u200d the Jews was less than 700,000. \u2063More than 70 years \u200dlater, there\u2062 are allegedly 5.9 million Arab \u201crefugees.\u201d <\/p>\n
When Palestinians were\u200d living\u2062 under Jordanian, Syrian, Egyptian, and Lebanese control, not one of those nations attempted<\/a> to create a new state. Not one \u2063integrated those fleeing\u200d a war they started. Palestinians were kept in \u201ccamps,\u201d often underwritten by the UN, in\u200b an effort to create an intractable situation for Israel and \u200ba convenient issue to exploit. \u2062 <\/p>\n

Which is the\u2063 point. This fantasy\u200d has helped scuttle virtually every attempted peace\u2063 deal. <\/p>\n
Tens of \u2064millions of \u200dpeople around the world have been victims of major conflicts in the world\u200c since the Arab world\u2064 first failed to destroy \u2062Israel. Over those years, Palestinians have been mired in a self-inflicted quagmire of poverty and war while the \u200bUN has helped perpetuate the\u200b victimhood and extremism.
