We\u200b saw this again this past weekend as the Chiefs\u200b were able to advance\u2062 to their fourth Super Bowl in five years.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, \u2064their \u200bfourth Super Bowl appearance in five years, which is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hundreds-of-patriots-gathered-in-fla-to-celebrate-president-trump-on-presidents-day\/\" title=\"Hundreds of patriots gathered in Fla. to celebrate President Trump on President\u2019s Day\">absolutely incredible<\/a>. Patrick Mahomes is two and one, he has won two MVPs, and he\u2019s trying to go three and one. Everybody\u2019s going to be talking about \u200cthis\u200d renaissance we\u2019ve seen offensively\u2064 for Kansas City \u2014 and that\u2019s fantastic. Andy Reid is \u200cone of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ann-coulter-if-only-putin-had-invaded-mexico\/\" title=\"Ann Coulter: If Only Putin Had Invaded Mexico\u2026\">greatest minds<\/a> of all time, offensively. We know how good Patrick \u2063is at quarterback and what he\u2019s done with this roster around\u200c him, which is just\u2063 a little\u2064 bit better on\u2063 offense than the one they had \u200dlast year.<\/p>\n<p>But I want to \u2062turn your attention to the reason why the\u2062 Chiefs are making this\u2063 run. It\u2019s defense. It\u2019s team balance. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the second half of the last eight games, Steve Spagnuolo and the Chiefs \u200bdefense have given up no more than \u2063eight points \u200c\u2014 3, 7, 0, 6, 0, 3, 7, 6 \u2014 including \u200dtwo complete shutouts.<\/li>\n<li>And they\u2019re getting it at the best \u2064moments: when they\u2063 have to have it defensively. It seems like\u2063 whether it\u2019s \u2062Chris Jones or someone else, when the Chiefs need to stop, they know how to turn the faucet \u2062off. They dominated the\u200d Ravens \u2014 absolutely dominated them. Even though they \u2062ended \u200cup winning by\u200d seven, \u2063it\u2063 felt like they were up double digits\u2064 the whole game.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So when it comes down to clutch, \u200bwe saw what the Patriots did with Bill Belichick and Tom Brady in those incredible defenses. When they needed the \u200boffense to step up, \u200dit did. When they needed \u200dthe defense or special \u2062teams to step up,\u2063 they did. I never thought we\u2019d see this again, but we\u2064 are slowly starting to see\u2064 the same dominance that New England had with \u2064Tom Brady, except with Patrick and Andy in Kansas City. And it\u2019s incredible to \u200bwatch. But remember, defense wins championships.<\/p>\n<p>Now, those are just incredible \u200dnumbers. We always talk about\u200b the game plans going in and who has the\u200b best script for the first 10 to 15 plays. But football, just like life, is a game of adjustments. I would rather have a guy who can go in\u2064 at halftime and adjust more than a guy who has a better \u200cgame plan going into the \u200cgame because you don\u2019t know what you\u2019re going to get until \u2062you sit down and they serve\u2062 you the plate. But it seems like whatever Kansas City has gotten, their defense \u2064in the \u200dsecond half has been incredible, whether it\u2019s the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-inaugural-like-baghdad-green-zone-red-zone-military-checkpoints-to-enter-and-leave-downtown-d-c-bridges-into-city-to-be-closed\/\" title=\"Biden Inaugural Like Baghdad: Green Zone, Red Zone, Military Checkpoints to Enter and Leave Downtown D.C., Bridges Into City to Be Closed\">red zone<\/a>,\u2062 whether it\u2019s having to\u200d defend a full field, whether\u2064 it\u2019s third and short, third and medium, or third and long, they \u200cseem to always make \u200bthe play.<\/p>\n<p>I know everybody\u2019s going to be talking about Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce \u2014 insert\u2062 Taylor Swift joke here \u2014 but the reason the\u2062 Chiefs are going back to the Super Bowl in 2024 is not just\u2064 an offensive Globetrotters Fest; they \u2062are a defensive grind-it-out hard-nosed football team.<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/episode\/super-bowl-lviii-chiefs-vs-49ers-member-exclusive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WATCH: \u201cCrain &#038; Company\u201d\u2062 on DailyWire+<\/a><\/h4>\n<h3>David: Defense Wins Championships<\/h3>\n<p><b>David:<\/b> Even as\u200d the game of football\u2062 evolves and becomes\u200c more offensive-heavy\u200c and everybody wants to see a \u2063lot of \u2062points get scored, with a game this physical, the championships are still won and lost based on defense.<\/p>\n<p>Look at what we\u2019ve seen \u200dat the college level the past three years:\u200d those back-to-back Georgia defenses that they had and Michigan\u2019s defense this past year. We\u2019ve seen it at that level. I agree with you completely about what Steve\u2064 Spagnuolo has been able to do this season. We\u2019ve talked a lot about this being the least elite wide receiver corps that Patrick Mahomes has had the \u2062past two seasons. \u2062Yes, we can talk about how great Travis Kelce\u200b is, but it\u2019s the least\u2064 elite wide \u2062receiver corps he\u2019s had since Tyreek Hill left. Yet it\u2019s the best defense he\u2019s played with, and that has proven to\u2064 be just enough.<\/p>\n<p>Championship mentality \u200dalso plays a role in this. It\u2019s not\u200b that these championship\u200b teams like the\u200c Chiefs,\u200b who are our generation\u2019s \u2064dynasty, are not trying hard in the regular season, and it\u2019s not \u200cthat the\u2064 other teams they\u2019re beating (the Bills,\u2063 Dolphins, and Ravens, \u200cfor example) are\u2063 completely falling apart in the postseason. It\u2019s just that \u2063the margins are so small in this area\u200b of sports. \u2063When you\u2019re talking about <i>championship<\/i>, whether it be golf, tennis, football, or baseball, the margins are so tight. There \u2063is a championship mentality.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the guys who know\u2064 in the critical moments not to get the key penalties, they don\u2019t\u2063 turn\u200b the football over late, and so on. That\u2019s really what sets them \u2062apart. This trifecta of Patrick Mahomes, Travis\u2064 Kelce, and Andy Reid \u2014 is our generation\u2019s Bill Walsh, Joe Montana, and Jerry Rice. Travis Kelce just passed \u2062Jerry Rice in total\u2063 catches in \u2062the postseason. We\u2019re witnessing something that\u2019s truly incredible. But the defense has stepped up and carried the team.<\/p>\n<p>When you have a defense that is\u2063 able to consistently shut down opposing offenses and make key stops, \u2062it \u200btakes the\u200d pressure off the \u200doffense. It allows them to play \u2062with more confidence, knowing \u2064that even if they make a mistake or have a slow\u200b start, the defense has their back. And that&#8217;s\u200c exactly what we&#8217;ve seen from the Chiefs\u200d this season.<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;ve been able to make timely stops and force turnovers, putting their offense in favorable positions to score. And when\u2063 it comes to crucial\u200c moments in games, like third downs or\u2062 red zone situations, \u2063the \u2064Chiefs defense has been at their\u2062 best. They&#8217;ve shown the ability to make \u200bthe big\u2064 plays when it matters most, and that&#8217;s \u200da testament\u2062 to the coaching and preparation of Steve Spagnuolo and his \u200cstaff.<\/p>\n<p>But it&#8217;s not just the individual talent and\u2064 playmaking ability of the \u200dChiefs\u200c defense that\u2064 has impressed me. \u200bIt&#8217;s the way they\u200b play as a\u2063 team,\u2062 with a relentless and hard-nosed\u200b mentality. They play with passion and intensity, and you\u2062 can\u200b see \u200dit in\u2063 every play. They fly to the \u2063ball, they communicate\u200d well, and they \u2062never give up \u200con a \u2064play. They have a collective mindset of doing whatever\u200d it takes to\u200b win, and \u200bthat&#8217;s what makes them so \u2062dangerous.<\/p>\n<p>So as we gear up for Super Bowl LVIII, where the Chiefs will face off against \u200cthe \u206349ers, I believe that\u200d the Chiefs defense\u2063 will\u200d once again\u2062 be the key to their success. The 49ers have a \u2064strong and dynamic offense, led \u2064by\u200d quarterback Trey Lance and a talented group of receivers. But if the Chiefs defense can continue their \u200dimpressive performance and make the necessary stops, they will give their offense the opportunity to score and come out on top.<\/p>\n<p>So let&#8217;s not overlook the \u2064importance \u200bof defense in this game. While everyone will \u200bbe \u2062focused\u200c on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bengals-49ers-advance-to-conference-championship-games\/\" title=\"Bengals, 49ers Advance To Conference Championship Games\">offensive fireworks<\/a> and the star players on\u2062 both teams, it will\u2062 be the defense that ultimately \u200ddetermines the outcome.
